Roman gladiator cemetery found

London, England (CNN) -- Heads hacked off, a bite from a lion, tiger or bear, massive muscles on massive men -- all clues that an ancient cemetery uncovered in northern England is the final resting place of gladiators, scientists have announced after seven years of investigations. The archeological dig has found "what may be the world's only well-preserved Roman gladiator cemetery," the York Archaeological Trust said. Scientists have found 80 skeletons in the "unique" cemetery under the city of York, northern England, since 2003. They announced their discoveries on Sunday, ahead of a documentary about the site due to air in Britain on June 14. This was one of two big archaeological developments, with Israeli scientists announcing the discovery of a huge cache of ancient religious objects.

This is very interesting. They knew about this since 2003, why do they always wait so long to report this stuff to us?
Also if anyone finds out info on what Israel discovered please let me know.

mmm...

Gas Line Excavation Unearths 3,500 Year Old Cultic Vessels

www.greenprophet.com...

While conducting a standard excavation to prepare for Israel National Gas Lines Company’s northern gas line installation, the Israel Antiquities Authority discovered a “bottomless pit” of intact cultic vessels. Layers of vessels that have been preserved for 35 centuries in a natural, underground hollow at the base of Tel Qashish next to Tishbi Junction were excavated with methodical care.

Archaeologists also said that “In this period, before the Bible, the children of Israel were still in Egypt or the desert, and it would appear that the vessels were used in a pagan cult that worshipped idols. During this period it was customary that each city had a temple of its own where special cultic vessels were used.”

Although the public does not have access to this fragile discovery just yet, the Antiquities Authority plans to prepare an exhibition later this year. We will post those details as they become available to us.

Don't these belong to all of us though? So why do they get to claim ownership and only show us when they want to? And don't the Palestinians have a big share, or atl east equal, in checking this stuff out? Makes me kinda mad. I guess its finders keepers, losers weepers. Huh?
