Does this change your mind about illegal immigrants

The lifeboat is much bigger than the author thought in 1974. Maybe it is much bigger than we are thinking today. The author's whole premise relies on a "moral obligation" to save the lifeboat and at the same time he is promoting being a thief.

So the life boat U.S. is bigger than it was in 1974? What has increased its size? Why is it in the last decade we've seen state and federal deficits soar out of control? With the actual unemployment rate exceeding 20% and the unemployed receiving benefits over 10%, the stock market continuing to flutter, closing today at a 2010 low, and an ongoing foreclosure rate for homes and now creeping into commercial buildings I am failing to see how we currently have the resources for our current resident or legal immigrants, let alone illegal immigrants.
