I too greatly enjoyed this series. Sir David does much of the waiting and working himself! I greatly admire him.

If you want to see the best bird dance on you tube, go to Snowball the Dancing Cockatoo. He dances to Another One Bites The Dust by Queen. And therei s one with the Back Street Boys, but I Like the Queen one best!

Beautiful Birds - The Splash of Colors!!!

Those little nimble musicians of the air, that warble forth their curious ditties,
with which nature hath furnished them to the shame of art.

~ Izaak Walton

These are not exactly birds of paradise, and yet they kind of are. Nevertheless, I was admiring a pair of cedar waxwings today and felt compelled to add some pics.

These are my favs, as far as local, Cedar Waxwing

My absolute pleasure Blackbird

Loves our feathered friends! Don't forget to leave some water out for em', tis a joy to watch them splash around and I swear they are grateful, giving me a wink every now and then.

My Dad just sent me a new vid project on birds of paradise. These creatures are my favorite organism on our planet and the most beautiful. Their courtship rituals coupled with extravagant plumage makes them such a spectacle to behold. Please click 1080 HD to view.

For more than a decade, a Cornell ornithologist has been studying birds of paradise, a family of 39 species native to New Guinea, surrounding islands and Australia whose name is well known but whose biology and behaviors are largely a mystery.
Scholes and Laman have been collaborating since 2003 to study, film and photograph the birds. Their photography and science book, "Birds of Paradise: Revealing the World's Most Extraordinary Birds," will be released Oct. 23.
