'In recent weeks, reporters and photographers for major news organizations around the country have been speaking out about the attempts by BP to prevent them from getting a first-hand look at the Gulf Coast oil spill. A CBS News crew was threatened with arrest when it tried to photograph the spill, and a BP representative in Louisiana told a Mother Jones reporter that she couldn’t visit the Elmer’s Island Wildlife Refuge without a BP escort.

On Monday, journalists from the New York Daily News were also “escorted away from a public beach on Elmer’s Island by cops who said they were taking orders from BP.” However, they managed to get a covert tour of the Queen Bess barrier island from a BP contractor who is fed up with the oil company’s attempt to cover up the disaster.'

Read the rest of the story Here.

I'm really not surprised by this. From the beginning we've heard stories of the media blackout and the coastguard along with loca law enforcement taking orders from BP.

Thoughts?

WHY are cops taking orders from BP? Because we live in a corporate owned police state!
You know it's bad when you aren't allowed to take a picture of a disaster.

Not surprising at all. These *self nip* suckers should have their money seized
and used to pay for this *snipping* clean up and restitution for fisherman and
local economy. Any money left over should be split among environmental
groups. They deserve nothing. Absou*snipping*lutely NOTHING. There should
be full access to anyone who wants to photograph. Screw their image and
company. They should be treading water and sucking oil with their mouths at
this point.

I just posted on the other thread. Sorry was so excited to put something on about this that I didn't search, forgive me.

Anyway I just read a post on fb about someone who went to check on their summer home and thought the beaches looked great until they walked a little further and found buried fish and rotting dolphin head and sand that had been turned over with oil underneath it. Oils was every where back in the reeds.

They found out later that Anderson Cooper was getting ready to do a live feed from there. Thats not good. They are NOT telling us the truth. They ARE covering up the degree of devastation.

Have seen the pics. HORRID!
Tell me how to link the pics and I will.
