Car Flies Out Of DFW Airport

Check it out, it's not fake, it really is true.
Because it happened at a toll booth exit, it technically and literally really does fly out of DFW.

..this extraordinary video captured early yesterday morning at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Took place at the north toll plaza, which served as a launching ramp for one drunk driver trying to exit the airport in a hurry. DFW spokesman David Magana confirms: "The driver was, as you might guess, suspected of inebriation and investigated for such and arrested for such."

We also have fiery post-crash pics after the jump -- because after the driver went all General Lee, she got out and made a call on her cell, at which point the vehicle went boom. Hard to believe the "driver only suffered minor injuries," as Magana puts it. Oh -- and the toll-booth operator wasn't injured at all.

Sucks, but I can't help but chuckle about the circumstances.

One time when I was in DFW, I was driving at like 3am on I20, and it was actually strangely desolate and the roads were mostly empty and quiet.

As I was driving along, I saw a bunch of police up ahead on the other side; and as I got closer, there was a car upside down all I saw was the gas tank/wheels/axle.

I was really curious how they flipped that car over like that. It was really impressive considering the car was originally driving on the tires.

There were no other cars in this accident. 1 car alone. This was a very good driver you can tell, similar to the hot shot in the video above.

I'm sorry, but no matter what anybody says, that was COOL! I am reminded of Live Free or Die Hard when Bruce Willis launches his car off a toll booth thing like that and blows up a helicopter....

When I was a little kid 3 teenagers in my neighborhood bought a old Ford Escort for 75 bucks and then set up a dirt ramp. Well after beating on the car for a day or two, they put cinder block weights in the trunk to counter weigh the car.. Anyway the kid hit about 55 miles an hour and hit the ramp perfect and jumped a good 30-40 feet before coming down flat & popping all the tires and destroying the underside of the car..looked hilarious and too bad this was before cell phones with video.
