Netanyahu: Rachel Corrie ship Wont reach Gaza

www.ynetnews.com

Prime minister tells forum of top seven government ministers he has no intention of allowing any vessels to breach Gaza naval blockade, 'now or later'; referring to Rachel Corrie ship, en route to Israel, PM says: We'll direct it to Israeli port
(visit the link for the full news article)

Well, it looks like international pressure MAY have changed his mind, ...

Israel May Ease Gaza Blockade After Contact With US

IN A dramatic reversal of policy, senior Israeli ministers were last night expected to approve a proposal by prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ease the naval blockade on Gaza.
******SKIP******
Under Mr Netanyahu’s proposal, international inspectors would examine boats destined for Gaza to ensure no weapons were on board.

The examination could take place either at Israel’s southern port of Ashdod or at an Egyptian port.

But, of course their has to be some kind of resistance to this plan, ...

Due to technical problems which delayed its departure, the 1200-tonne Rachel Corrie was not with the six-ship flotilla which was attacked on Monday.

“If we are not boarded beforehand, we hope to be in Gaza by Saturday,” Mr Halliday said.

We cannot accept an offer of an escort to another port which could jeopardise safe delivery of our cargo of construction and educational materials and medical supplies.

“We fear that any such escort could mean that our 550 tonnes of cement on board and our educational material would be confiscated by the Israelis, given that they do not define this as humanitarian goods – in breach of the UN definition of same,” he said.

Plenty of aide is getting into Gaza, notice how the real problems stared, when Hamas forcibly took control. Those picture that are posted above, if you took time to look at them you would see some healthy well fed and clothed Palestinians.

4 Kassam rockets hit Israel just today.

I was hoping for 8. Too bad. I hope the IRA provisioned the Irish ship with a good supply of anti-helo RPGs. The US provided H-64s will be sitting ducks at a 200 foot rappelling height. Kill every one of the filthy murderous scum.

Dude you're confused, watch this..

Well yes you have a point but lets look at the numbers

Iserail has a tiny, tiny population and yet they manage to upset most the world population and yes i know the story about once the muslims have taken care of the jews they will turn on us.

Who said the jews should be given prime real estate in the middle of muslim land and who gave them nukes and why are they being allowed to get away with murder.

The zionists are out to control the world via the banking system and they are bribing our politicians and control most the media which is odd given the size of population and just how much they control.

I would trust Iran with nukes much more than iserail who have showed themselves to be facists and need to be stoped at all costs and we also need to sever the financial control they have over the world.

It's plan to see who the aggressors are at this point in time and yet those that resist the NWO are being made out to be the bad guys day after day when in fact its more two sided.

The west has a bad apple and it needs to be dealt with and if that upsets uncle sam and his zionists freinds then so be it.

For Israel to let ships into a fundementalist led regime with the possiblity of carrying smuggled arms and funds, that could later be used against Israeli civilians is pure negligence for life and a humanitarian issue in of itself.

Cement and building materials are banned because they have been used in the past to build tunnels with which to smuggle arms and funds into Gaza.....

You guys are too quick to see that the very thing that influences you; international law, is not recognised by Hamas in its own atrocities but IS used as a weapon against Israel whom the world scorns for the breaking of any international law.

If international law applies to you and not your enemy then it is difficult to see it as a 'fair' judgement.

Did you guys have such strong feelings when the US was imposing repeated sanctions on the people of Iraq?
The consequences of which led to hunger, malnutrition, demoralisation and dispair.
The US imposed those sanctions through the UN and we know its justifaction of Iraq having WMDs was BS.

Israel imposes this blockade because Hamas refuse to hand over a kidnapped IDF soldier, therefore bringing into question Hamas's responsibility to the welfare of the Palestinians. If they handed the soldier back, the blockade would be lifted, the suffering caused by the blockade would end there and then.

Open your eyes >.>

Kidnapping soldiers is something that really stings Israel, Hamas and Hezbullah know this, this is why they do it.

Kidnapping Ghalid Shalit was an act of intense provocation with the intent on inciting Israel to respond strongly and therefore gain yet more condemnation, whilst Hamas enjoys favourable media treatment and its atrocities are largely ignored and not held to account under international law.

This is Israels 'Mike Durant'. They will not lift the blockade until Ghalid Shalit is returned.

However those of you that have seen 'Blackhawk Down' probably felt a sense of pride in the commitment to not give up on the captured pilot.

Hooah.....

The father's answer to his kids should be, "Because we teach you to hate the Jews and we teach you to grow up and kill the Jews by blowing up your bodies in their presence and we don't have enough sense to vote officials into office who will promote peace and not teach hatred."

Or he could shorten his reply by saying, "We deserve this because of our hatred so how about shutting up!"

Absolutely brilliant post.

I found this particularly distrubing:

What would you do to a man who pointed a loaded, fully automatic weapon at your kid?

I know what my Irish soul would do. Fight.

I completely agree, my American soul would do the very same. I would be sure they would rue the day they did that to my children!

Honestly, that alone gives reason for them to fight back.

Anyone else notice he is using an M4A1 Colt Carbine? WTF!

Maybe if they stopped shooting rockets from Gaza and Gaza was not run by muslim fanatics then they would not have a sea blockade. Fatah seem to be doing fine in the west bank...

For Israel to turn Gaza into a prison and not let any aid in is a crime against humanity, there are innocent men, women and children in there. Yes, Hamas is just as much to blame as the Zionists, but there is no denying that Israel is using a disproportionate use of power here, Gaza has no air force, no navy, they have rockets which most of the time hit no one or nothing at all, compared to Israel beating the crap out of them and not letting any aid in, Israel has declared all out war on them, Israel is the big human picking on the little ants below, i'm thinking there are different motives behind this, maybe the extermination of Palestinians?

i agree with Israel on this one. They should not open the sea blockade since Hamas will use it to bring weapons.

So just let all the innocent women and children die? Is that your solution?

Palestinians wouldn't hate Israelis so much if it wasn't for the expansionist policies.

[edit on 6/3/2010 by Uniceft17]

OK well what do you want Israel to do? They have tried everything for peace with these blood sucking terrorist. Israel gave them GAZA in the first place and what did Israel get? Rockets and Mortars, do you expect Israel to sit around and wait for Hamas to get a Scud or Silkworm with chemical weapons on-board?

Its war, they constantly start fights with Israel and Israel has had enough. The Arabs in Gaza get what ever they have coming to them.

Palestinians wouldn't hate Israelis so much if it wasn't for the expansionist policies.

The land belongs to Israel in the first place. Palestine was a REGION in biblical times that included parts of Iraq all the way to the Med so why don't we send the Arab immigrants that call themselves Pallys to Iraq, Syria, Lebanon or Jordan? Thats right they don't want them back so they can cause more trouble for Israel and not them.

How did the Romans kick the Jews out of Judea, Samaria if Israel never existed? Did you ask yourself that one?

In 1920 the world organization of nations [League of Nations] proclaimed that Palestine was to be a homeland for the Jews. Around the same time, Lebanon was made a place for Arab Christians, and Syria, and Iraq were to be homelands for Arab Moslems. In 1922 England [the occupying power in Palestine] gave all of Palestine east of the River Jordan [77% of Palestine] to Arab Moslems, forbidding Jews to live there.

In the Six-Day War, Israel captured Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem. But they didn't capture these territories from Yasser Arafat. They captured them from Jordan's King Hussein. I can't help but wonder why all these Palestinians suddenly discovered their national identity after Israel won the war.

If Hamas want to break the blockade they need to man up and get a warship.

Then they can bring in all the arms they want but not hiding behind civilians.

But they are just to cowardly to try.

And i just want to watch the only part of a Hamas warship that is likely to reach GAZA.
That will likely be a oil slick.

God chose Israel for his only Son to be born in, Jesus!

If he wanted him to appear in America, then he would have done so and the claptrap about whatsisname coming down there not very long ago according to the Mormons would then be true!

Jesus was a Jew and they are probably the only country in the World to follow the bible seriously. They will be the one's going to heaven, not the Hamas or Muslim Muppets with their Alah!!

No but what they did do was purposefully ruin the German economy, they had boycott signs in every Jewish run shop in the world in the late twenties.

They were an enemy to the Germans and when the war began they locked them down. When they ran out of viable man power to run the country and fight the war at the same time they put the locked down enemy to work.

When the food supplies ran short the enemy was fed less.

Real history is a lot different than what you and I have been told.

Hamas is more of a man Israel can ever be. They are freedom fighters in true sense as we have seen in history whenever occupation has taken place.

The Israeli can kill them and restrict their movement through the billions and trillions of donations and aids they get every year from USA..Germany and other western countries giving excuse of Holocaust but can never kill the idea and motivation to be free again.

Excellent post!
If that was me i would fight till the end, shooting and bombing the oppressors

Pretty funny the Israelis saying "Arabs to the Gas Chambers" when you look at what happened to them.

I watched on that webcam when the Israelis used white phosphorous, used tanks to blow holes in apartment buildings, use psychological warfare via US built drones and murder children with snipers.

I recorded it and sent it to the UN as did many people worldwide using the various webcams of the recent conflict.

Fitting 1.5 million peopel into a tiny strip of land then illgealy blockading their port. It's inhumane and barbaric the Israelis deserve everything they get from the Palestinians.

The world is turning against them now and they know it... it will be interesting to see what the next Zionist move is.. if was a normal jew i would leave as soon as, it's going to hit the fan within the next year or so.

Israel is a satellite state of the USA so of course US weapons, armor and equipment will be there. In return the Zionists run the USA. Oh what joy the world is!

According to another poster on ATS who is following this on twitter, the Rachel Corrie had their communications jammed and the ship was boarded by the Israeli Navy. After hearing of the incident with the first flotilla, the crew and passengers of the Rachel Corrie had previously vowed not to offer any resistance if this was the outcome, so it will be intersting to see how this one unfolds. Probably the same as it always has, the ship will be taken, the passengers arrested and deported, but let's hope this one is without bloodshed. I seriously doubt Israel would make the same mistake twice with so much attention now focused on them.

No hate what so ever. Merely saying it how i see it.

Is the Gaza people shooting rockets not justified?

Could you live happily ever after if a stronger nation bottled you up on a slither of land?

Restricted your movement in and out?

Bombed and shot at will anyone who 'they' believed to be a threat, even if you believed them to be a decent and honourable political figure?

Enjoy eating your nice food?, drinking fresh water?, living in a nice heated home?

How do you think Gaz'inians feel, scarce food, scarce water, power restrictions. Being unable to drive up the coast for a nice Sunday by the beach?

Think about it this, before you jump on your 'anti-Semite' bandwagon...
Because I have defended Israel at times, unfortunately this isn’t a time Israel deserves defending.

IF, this was you >>
