It's really unbelievable to me that I could ever be far enough from the Earth to be able to take a picture of the entire thing (at least my viewing side). Everything I've ever know up to that point would be just so small.

being lucky enough to be a member of the astronomical society in our town,
I often get to spend lots of time under the milky way, in all it's glory.

Often times I dont even bother with the telescopes.

I just sit under the open sky and feel it as I watch it.
and I certainly do feel it.

I feel a sense of 'realness', a sense of "home", a sense of 'tomorrow', and a sense of 'yesterday', and of wonder and fascination, I feel a sense of well being and comfort... a sense of past, and of future.. it reminds me of when I was a young child. 'Nostalgic' I guess is a word for it.

But i never did much like this when I was a child, except for looking up at the stars.
So Im not sure if it's really 'nostalgia'.. or something else.
[i sometimes think, that perhaps it is from when we were nothing but stars in the cosmos, and that is why i feel "nostalgic" from it]. lol
a sort of "remembering ones past"...

at the observatory, I often lay down on one of the picnic tables outside, and as the sky (Earth) moves.. I feel as if i am swimming through the cosmos, and in those moments, nothing else seems to matter.
Everything is exactly as it should be, even if we (i) dont understand it.

I feel that is where we were yesterday..
and that is where we will be returning to, tomorrow.
