I'm prolly gonna get a snootful for expressing this...but...maybe something does have to happen.

I abhor violence and do not condone the atrocities committed by any governments or peoples for ANY reason.

However, after the days of hate speech and spin from both sites, it is clear to me the road simply cannot be peace.

This fact, and I believe it to be fact, is an assault on all of our sensibilities and an utter failure of diplomacy.

The parties involved have been killing each other for so long and nothing has ever come of it. This is the definition of insanity - attempting the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Since it is clear no in is interested in peace, it is in my sickening, failed, embarrassed and humble opinion that something - other than blowing each other up - MUST happen...and must happen soon.

The atrocities must stop, and they must stop with all involved.

Too bad we have to kill ourselves over crap like this...we're better than this...

Let the best loser win, I say.

/cry

Sir, let's not go there. Calling Israelis "cockroaches" is the first step to de-humanizing them. I despise the IDF massacre on that ship, but when humans are degraded to animals nothing good will come out of it!

My prayers are with Mairead and her indomitable crew.

Keep those Israelis away.

This time, if it happens, it will be murder - just like last time.

And this time, please arrest the murderers.

Cui bono - that is ALWAYS the question. TPTB always want to gain something.

The Israeli-Palestinian war has kept illegitimate Arab leaders in power for decades, has made the industrial-military complex and illegal weapons dealers very, very rich, has funded (a.k.a. lobbying) US politicians, has ... do you want me to go on?

The blockade is illegal.

Isreal must either declare war on Gaza, or take posession. Due to mass perception considerations, they are not willing to do either.

The Blockade is illegal, and invalid. Any and all maritime traffic is allowed to the Gaza strip waters. The fact that Isreal is preventing them, boarding, assaulting, arresting and kidnapping from international waters, makes it an act of war against the country where the ship is registered. In this case, Ireland, which is both a NATO and EU member country.

The Irish ship Rachel Corrie, has the internationally recognised right to dock in Gaza, and trade with the Gazans as they wish. Isreal have NO DOMINION over Gaza, they refuse any legal responsibility, but claim the right to utterly control (in a highly negative way) any and all contact with anyone else on earth.

It is morally and legally wrong, and both the Irish and Isreal are fully aware of this.

www.irishcentral... .com/news/Irish-ship-Rachel-Corrie-was-sabotaged-by-Israeli-intelligence-says-report-95425309.html

The Irish ship, MV Rachel Corrie, was tampered with by the Israeli Defense Forces according to Colonel Itzik Turgeman.
The Rachel Corrie was planned to be the first ship to arrive into Gazan waters last weekend but was delayed due to mechanical problems now suspected to be a form of sabotage.
An Israel newspaper reported “A senior officer in the Israel Defence Forces hinted that the IDF sabotaged the engines of five ships, saying “they took care of them.” The Colonel also told the newspaper that the army decided not to sabotage the Turkish ferry, Mavi Mamara which was attacked on Monday.

Piracy is a very well documented crime. You have no rights to self defense if you have invaded a ship, which is sovereign territory, somebody else'ss territory. In fact, the only rights you have, traditionally is death, by hanging, traditionally.

I don't care about TBTB in this context. The parties involved - which must be assumed that they're blind to their "TBTB puppetmasters" - STILL have accomplished NOTHING with WHATEVER means they've been employing for so long.

Killing. Embargoes. Warnings. Blockades. Force. Bombs. EVERYTHING. The methods are MOOT. The point is, side A has been doing X and side B has been doing Y for many, many years. X and Y clearly ARE NOT WORKING.

That is insanity. How do you reason with insanity? Or worse - how do you prove you AREN'T insane to reason with it in the first place?

Maybe - just maybe, this Irish rush will finally break the cycle of death, by forcing either A or B do something OTHER than X and Y.

Who and What are IRRELEVANT. It is the how that must be dealt with.

edited because ATS doesn't like raw, handcoded markup. Emphasis was bunk anyway.

Let's hope that the Turks will keep their promises about escorting the ship with a military vessel, even if i don't think so. They already anounced that the incident with the Israelly forces will not harm their gun-trade relationships.
Israel must learn that they are not the pimps of the world having the USA on help any time anything happens.
They already showed their real faces using phosphorus on schools.
They have became Nazi's causing a holocaust to Gaza.

"The Rachel Corrie has been preparing for months to bring aid to Gaza, the ship was planned to be one of the first to arrive in Gaza but it was delayed due to mechanical problems. Look up the name Rachel Corrie the girl the ship was named after".

Rachel Aliene Corrie (April 10, 1979 – March 16, 2003) was an American member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). She was killed in the Gaza Strip by an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) bulldozer while attempting to prevent IDF forces from demolishing the home of local Palestinian Samir Nasrallah. The IDF has claimed that the death has been due to restricted angle of view of the D9 bulldozer driver. The New York Times said Corrie and others were acting as "human shields." A student at the Evergreen State College, she had taken a year off and traveled to the Gaza Strip during the Second Intifada.

On 30 March 2010, a 1800-tonne vessel was bought at auction in Dundalk, Ireland for €70,000 by the Free Gaza Movement. It was outfitted for use in a voyage to Gaza, named in honour of Rachel Corrie and launched 12 May 2010. It sailed to join a flotilla intended to directly confront Israel’s blockade of Gaza and take in basic supplies. The flotilla was intercepted (see Gaza flotilla raid) however the MV Rachel Corrie had not reached the other ships and continues "...ploughing ahead with its attempt to deliver aid to Gaza..."

In memory of the horrible death of the American girl Rachel Corrie, I would like everyone to see these videos of a true brave humanitarian hero.

She was murdered by the Israelis with a bulldozer on March 16th, 2003.

And now! in the spirit of her memory - a ship with humanitarian aid to Gaza is carrying her name.

Let's all hope, that her death will not go in vain. And some day, some warm-headed money-lovers warlords will start using the brain that is in their heads in order to help rather than to destroy.
After all, rich or poor, we will all be eaten by the same worms. It's our actions that remains

I wish the aid ship all the best and hope that no matter what happens there are no injuries to anyone.

I mentioned this a few days ago in another thread and feel it worthwhile again.

Theres a part of me that thinks the aid convoys are being used, set up to increase the chances of a major incident in the middle east. The arrival of ships carrying aid is needed in Gaza, yet, that same aid could be delivered by other means. Especially now that Egypt is allowing aid through.

Are there political motives behind the convoys? yes there are. Even more so now after the raid on the convoy a few days ago.

The Irish, like us Scots make good friends but realy bad enemies. Israel better understand that. I hope this goes well, the aid is delivered by whatever means and no one is hurt.

Respects

I hope the Irish like 'Davy Jone's Locker'. The ship's owners's better read their insurance policy to remind them that they are' not covered' if involved in military action.

My friend and I had a great time discussing this tonight. The Irish can hold their own. I can imagine them trying to board the Irish's ship the same way they boarded the last one.

As the commandos start to repel down a rope, they look down to see a circle of angry Irish with brass knuckles, clubs, and broken bottles. The first guy down the rope futilely scrambles to climb it again, saying "Go up! Climb, CLIMB!"

One of the Irish grabs the rope and yells,

"Ohhh, so you like boarding boats, do ya?"

I guess as long as it is against Israel it is ok to deliberately attempt to create an incident.

Short answer, yes it is.

Israel is a rogue, criminal state...and should finally be treated as such by the international community.

If you don't like that, perhaps you should direct your efforts to persuading Israel to follow international law, like everyone else has to, instead of making snide remarks on an internet forum.

Israel and it's sympathizers and apologists, are fond of making pretty lame excuses for their criminal barbarism, such as the common one of 'the flotilla was warned, so their deaths and injuries are their fault'...

If an armed mugger, attacked you and warned you not to fight back, or you'll be shot/knifed/bludgeoned, does that automatically give the armed criminal the right to frisk you without impairment from you? If you tried to prevent the crime from taking place to protect yourself or family, does that mean any injury or death you or you family suffer from the criminal mugger, is your fault...since after all, the mugger DID warn you!

You cannot defend the indefensible..a crime is a crime, and murder, maiming, hijack and piracy are all crimes, whether you warn the victims of the crime in advance or not!

And believe me the Irish in Canada are watching closely as well, along with the rest of the world.

Just let Palestine have some food and basic needs of life and it will all get better. I also hope that Palestine will see what the worlds doing for her and be noble and peaceful.

Thats just nuts. Dosn't matter if your a peace activist, if the ship tries to run the blockade it will be eather boarded or simply sunk. I'll never understand why folks are so bound and determined to get themselves killed over fighting that been gong on off and on for 3,000 years.

For example, if it was a US naval blockade, and folks from some other place tried to come through, you know they would get a warning. If they refused to come too, they'd get a shot across the bow. If still they didn't stop. A 5" shell from a frigate, or missile guided cruiser would do there duty and the folks running the blockade would end up singing in davy jones locker...

Deep sixed.

So I don't really understand why folks want to make such a big deal about this event. Hamas uses foolish people to run the blockade with rockets and other weapons of terror in there holds. These arn't freedom fighters.

As Ive said before I'm not on the isreali side but I do see there point of view.
Then again, if its not this, it will be something else, folks in the middle east area are just WAR WAKY, and have been killing each other in the thosands for a very LONG time..

Its like the old 50's movies where the cop says..

"move along folks, nothing here to see".
