If a person is a paid government employee, by definition they are no different than a looting criminal that takes property at the point of a gun.

In order for government to actually pay the paycheck, they have to collect revenue from the public at the point of a gun.

Since government produces nothing, sells nothing, makes nothing, and has nothing of its own, every resource it spends, it must forcibly take at gun point from someone else.

If you are collecting a government paycheck, somewhere in America an IRS agent is pointing a gun at a private citizen and looting them of their property then handing it to you.

This is not how a civilized society is supposed to behave.

In a court of law, such action would be deemed "conspiracy." Where by you are knowingly benefiting from the commission of a crime. That's a felony offense.

Government employees must either be paid voluntarily or work for free. If there must be government, it must be funded solely by charity.

You forget, sir.

Those who work for the government, who bring your mail, who protect what freedoms you have left, still pay taxes too.

Exactly. I work for the government in IT, and I feel zero guilt cashing my paychecks. We all have to make a living, I just get paid well for my work. I make no excuses and no apologies.

I apologize!

Not only do I work for Government, I work for Revenue!!

We don't use guns though, we take your Driver's license, freeze your bank account, suspend your passport and hunting licenses, take your medical practitioner license, tags, etc., etc.! (I work for Child Support Enforcement.) Rarely we will use the sheriff's department or a judge to issue a warrant, so I guess we are technically still armed criminals.

I can't disagree with your assessment. I feel like a criminal on many days. I do it for the State Holidays, Free Health Insurance, and Pension plan. They don't pay me jack!

I would prefer being one of two things: 1. Getting my old business back, my old house back, and making a living as an entrepreneur (basically impossible in todays tax/insurance/health care environment). I had to give up business when they would no longer insure my wife and infant son. or option 2. At least be an out and out criminal, living the exciting life, making the big bucks, and doing things my way. If someone is going to make a living as a criminal, they ought to reap the benefits and pick their own victims. I hate doing the government's dirty work.

So postal workers, highway construction workers, teachers, sanitation workers, and other numerous others produce nothing? I think they would like to take you to task about it.

Of course, we could have a friendly corporation run your water systems, your highways, carry the mail, and perform other tasks as such. But then again, they will be 'pointing the gun' at someone, now won't they?

I agree 100%, but just FYI, these are almost word-for-word quotes from Ayn Rand.

I'm employed by the Norwegian civil service and am currently on secondment to the British civil service. Am I a criminal in both countries, then ? Or just the one ?

I can't remember ever pointing a gun at anyone. I have been spat at, though, sworn at, threatened by some members of the "alternative community", simply because I wouldn't give them government money, or is that taxpayers money ?

They're quite happy to take government money, even though they hate the government, they're quite happy to take taxpayers money even though most haven't worked or paid tax since, like, ever. Most seem quite content to languish at the public (or Daddy's) expense while slagging off the people who work in government, branding them criminals etc ... oops, that'll be the OP !

The USPS is a failure, always has been. Anything important that I want to send/recieve goes through private carriers like UPS or FedEx. Militias, if they hadn't been demonized and mostly disolved, protect(ed) my freedoms for free(voluntarily).
And it's rediculous that they pay taxes, they are getting paid using tax money, so that means the taxes for everyone else have to be higher in order pay their gross wages.

You know this has got to be the tenth time you've stated your view on this particular issue and tried to force-feed your political views down our throats with this.

You say: blah blah blah taxation is theft blah blah

And then I say: blah blah blah social contract blah blah

And then you say: blah blah Hobbes was an idiot, I did not sign up for that blah blah

And then I say: blah blah blah you're a hypocrite blah blah

And in the end we never get anywhere because I am a Socialist and you are an Anarchist and you are utterly convinced that you are right and I am wrong.

So instead of that today, since we've already been through this a million times, I'm going to critique your rhetoric instead.

The metaphor of the IRS agent with a gun to the head of the American people is old and lacks the punch it used to. Get creative with it, I'd make some cool illusion to feudalism or something.

If there are no Anarchist-Libertarian countries on earth and never really have been, how can you make the statement regarding "civilized society?" without working proof to point at?

You directly state that government employees are knowingly complicit in the crime you claim is being committed. I would respond that most people don't know jack about where their paycheck comes from, nor do they really care to think about it so long as it cashes properly.

You state that "government produces nothing, sells nothing, makes nothing, and has nothing of its own..." While this is good prose to be sure, it is also blatantly and completely false, which would automatically end your argument in the context of symbolic logic.

Well there you are mate, that's how your argument has failed based entirely on your rhetoric without even stepping into the moral or philosophical idiocy that you have spewed forth.

Cheers!

You are a worker of the corporation of the United States, so you too are a criminal.

Correct, they don't produce anything. Road construction CONSUMES. Unless they put in a toll booth, then it's just raping for more taxes to pay for something that was already built and paid for. Income tax doesn't pay for roads anyway, that comes from a voluntary tax on products. I also pay for my sanitation services, teachers should not be gov't funded to begin with. Education should be handled 100% locally, keep the gov'ts paws of education.

I get my good clean water out of the ground, not water contaminated with fluoride and chlorine. see my post above for the others.

Did you read what you typed?

If they DIDN'T pay taxes the YOURS would be higher, that's why your taxes stay semi-low.

Besides, a flat tax would get rid most complaints and problems of the tax system, not paying government employments.

Yeah!

Who needs roads or schools or public safety? Granted there are criminals everywhere but you could make the same case for anyone who works in fast food, advertising/marketing, or any number of private jobs that uphold a military industrial complex.

Americans (myself included) are guilty for not taking a "serious" stand against these ideas we deem to be threatening. We are too busy going to work and feeding our families everyday to throw it away in the name of some Utopian idea of freedom and peace.

Govt employees are criminals.

Yeah, I read what I wrote. You really think the IRS isn't charging us for the full gross income paid to the gov't employees? If they weren't doing that, why would they tax their employees to begin with? It gives them a higher budget, because they'll base the budget on gross income all the while knowing they'll get like 20% of that back.

Isn't a criminal merely whoever the government says is a criminal?

If you are so against "government" employees...then you should stop using public roads, public libraries, public schools, police department, fire department. You should never visit national parks or monuments...never collect social security or medicare. You should not have a drivers license, passport, or social security card. You should never vote or contact your senator or representative. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ON THE INTERNET. You should not own a firearm. You should not own a business. You should not use electricity or any oil products. You should not eat food grown by American farmers. Basically you should live in a powerless shack and grow your own food...while illegally squating on land you don't own and not paying taxes on.

All the above takes GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES to run smoothly. And yes...they should be paid by tax money.

I find arguments like this hypocritical because you are complaining about this...but I am sure you are enjoying all the benefits that government employees have provided you with.

Well, it is my philosophy that if you can't beat em join em... So get a government job. Go to the postal service it's pretty easy to get a job there. Oh wait they provide a Government Service!Wow.

Well,if it was not for the government workers including cities, county states and federal, plus all those that depend on contracts from them, our economy would be toast.

Where I live the street maintenance workers in the street department are stealing their paycheck.

The roads are crap and you know it is bad when the alleys are in better shape than the main roadways in the city.
