Turkey is ready to go in war with Israel, according to Erdogan

www.aysor.am

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made it clear that Turkey is ready to go in war with Israel.

In his parliamentary address Erdogan accused Israel of a "bloody massacre” as he described Israel's raid on a flotilla, including a Turkish ship, carrying relief supplies to blockaded Gaza.

"We see clear murder taking place, and we see an aggressive country,” Erdogan said criticizing Israel and warning not to test his country’s patience. He said: “Turkey’s hostility was as strong as its friendship is valuable.”

Well well well.

If Turkey really goes to war with Israel, they'll need to have Lebanon let them pass... That would mean that Hezbollah would probably take the opportunity to side with Turkey, Syria and Iran would probably come in too.

Now Israel would face it's toughest fight in it's history, they would probably have to use nukes... if the US doesn't help them directly with troops, aircraft carriers and subs... AND FAST.

That would mean a draft. That would also mean that NATO would be imploding... and you just know what THAT would do to european politics and politics in the middle-east in general...

Anyway I think it's just rhetoric... but you never know, if Turkey sends warship to escort the other gaza aid flotilla and Israel is crazy enough to shoot at them, war could easily break out.

But I think probably of war right now are PRETTY LOW. It's just RHETORIC for now...

I disagree with one point and that's your assessment that the odds of war are pretty low right now.

Israel is a lunatic state.... They will attack the ships or mine the water in order to sink as many as possible.

Sure, this would mean the final destruction of the Zionist state if they got into it with that bear known as Turkey.

But why would a lunatic state let that stop them?

Yeah well they did trained and armed Georgian troops to attack Russian troops and to commit genocide in Abkhazia and South Ossetia and that nearly turned into nuclear war with the Russians...

So I guess you are right.

I strongly doubt it. Turkey hasn't even evicted the Israeli ambassador. For now it is simply rhetoric. Let's see if the Turkish government has the guts to put the money were their mouth is. They are not foolish enough to wage war over the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Thanks for the agreement but I really hope that I'm wrong and Israel will find its sanity again.

Egypt opened it's side of the border today. The Israeli position on the blockade is becoming more and more ridiculous.

But there I go trying to play the logic card with Israel. Silly me.

I hope this can shed some additional light on this situation;

Israel planned to kill Erdogan: Report

Turkish media sources detail information implicating the Israeli Mossad in a plot to assassinate Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

An e-mail found on a personal computer belonging to one of the members of the underground Ergenekon organization exposed Mossad's role in the failed assassination efforts against Erdogan, Turkish media outlets reported on Friday.

The organization has been accused of orchestrating a coup plot against the current Turkish administration.

The indictment list tabled by the Turkish prosecution against the organization says that an Israeli journalist had sent the e-mail to a number of Ergenekon figures to inform them of Israeli readiness to assassinate the Turkish premier.

According to sources in the Turkish press, the e-mail promised support for Mr. Dugo -- whose identity has not been revealed -- against Erdogan after coordination with Mossad chief Meir Dagan.

The e-mail explained that the Mossad would wait for a green light from Mr. Dugo to carry on with the assassination plans.

Turkish sources have claimed Mr. Dugo to be Turkish Labor Party head Dugo Prinitchek -- who is suspected of leading the secret organization.

I dont think Netanyahu is really suicidal. But he can't explain his voters that he conceded to pressure unless Israel is forced to agree by someone.

Erdogan is perfectly able to keep growling loud and convincingly enough to play the bad cop. Turkeys efforts to become a EU-member have really honed the countries diplomatic skills and standing a lot.
He will be the guy, demanding explanations from Netanyahu, once the UN apparatus gets rolling.
Good cop will logically be the US, but Mr. O will probably be miraculously distracted until Israel starts to do its homeworks and returns to discussion of peace, without trying to shoot the guys, they are supposed to talk with.

I out myself as lunatic optimist. Final Peace Agreement in the Holy Land possible?

Yep... but IF the documents about Israeli involvement in the assassination of Erdogan are true, I think he may really be ready to go to war with Israel.

But yeah, Erdogan so far is all talk. If he sends warships then he'll be more action.

USA would have to be careful who to side with unless Turkey attack first...

If Turkey attacks first USA could side with israel.. if Israel attacked first then Israel has to face the wrath of all of NATO.

naw,
any talks cannot result on the comprehensive 'peace' as you suggest...

a timely stand-down, to diffuse the 'in-your-face' hostility between Turkey and the Jewish-Zionist state....over the humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip,
is all that will result
and that will only be temporary at best

the zionists in charge of Israeli policy must be removed from power for the good of the nation & the whole world, (as i see things)

I thought WW3 started decades ago.

As far as I can see (from Turkish media) war between Israel and Turkey won't break out and if it will, it won't take too long until uncle Sam gets involved and tries to smoothen the situation. USA won't side with anyone because both Israel and Turkey are hugely important to uncle Sam.

Turkey has been busy with PKK for decades and some politicians in Turkey think that there was a connection between the attack on the flotilla and the attack on Turkish Navy soldiers in Iskenderun, as it happend at the exact same time. As if it was a warning of Israel "if you attack us, it will get worse than that attack in Iskenderun". It's not a secert that PKK is being supported by USA and Israel anyway. Thus I don't see a war with Israel happening, eventhough the motivation among the Turkish people is very high.

Israel obviously wants to trigger a war and I hope my country doesn't fall in it but sometimes I do wish that our Army would take revenge and stop the genocide Israel is doing, though.

On the other side all this stuff reminds me of Cyprus. Turkey back then had the nuts to defend its people outside of its borders..how about today?

Chances of Turkey going to war with Israel are very low. The reason is that if Turkey launches a new conflict against Israel, Hezbollah would start raining rockets on Israel and Hamas might stir up some tensions on the west bank. IDF will have to deal with Turkey, Hamas,Hezbollah,Syria and even Iran simultaneously, thereby starting an all out regional war. If IDF finds itself in a difficult situation during the course of war, it might even use nuclear weapons. Erdogan's statements or rhetoric could be meant for domestic audience. Most probably, Turkey might go to the extent of snapping diplomatic relations with Israel.

From what i have heard, The "Mavi Marmara" is a Turkish ship and as such in international waters is Turkish Territory. So i think theoretically Israel have already committed an "act of war" against Turkey.

E2a I think the "Lusitania" event which brought America into WW2 is the precedent.
