Hi all,

I have been watching BP's live feed and the saw that has been cutting the pipe has stopped about half way through. Looks like the saw failed.. they zoomed in and the pully that the blade rests on wasn't spinning anymore.

Who knows what they will do next.. hopefully they have another saw or they can get this one working again.

Yeah, they have stopped to assess the situation. The pressure from the gas/oil coming out the 'cut' is moving the cutter machine around...

IMO, I'd back out, and circular saw the rest of it.. from the other side.

IF they can get the cut nice and flat at a 8 degree correction, this new capping method has a 70% chance of working. As long as they can lower it on slowly with a 4 corner weight system.

Cross your fingers and toes.

BP has freed the cutter, but the live feeds are currently pointed to empty water.
