I had thought about this also as a purposeful way of killing off any visitor’s cities that may or may not be in the deepest depths of our oceans but
our governments are not stupid in their corruption and they would assume I would think that if such a civilisation existed down there in the inky high
pressure depths that they are not going to be even slightly perturbed by some leaking oil – no matter the quantities.
It might seem to be a viable and even an efficient way of wiping out an underwater city because oil has a way of clogging up filtration systems and
the like but it seems viable to me only if the intent was to wreck a city that had been constructed with and ran on human state of the art
technologies.
Thinking outside the realms and limitations of our clunky and yet delicate technologies I would think that if visitors can cross the unimaginably vast
gulf of interstellar space to get here and then actually go one step further and create large cities down in the high pressure depths miles down in
the deepest places then I would think that it is going to take much more than oil or other noxious contaminants to cause them much concern let alone
wipe them out.
At best it might annoy them and even anger them because I would think they might love the environment they live in and the creatures they live
alongside but the leak as a threat to themselves – doubtful.
In any case if it was possible that the leak had been caused as a means to irritate something that is a military top secret (perceived) threat I would
still not consider that our governments would do such a stupid thing because a highly advanced visitor race is also going to be able to defend itself
in more ways than just zapping enemies with energy weapons.
That same visitor race is probably not going to have all its eggs in one basket either and if I was to try and imagine them being here among us and
knowing how we think and act I would assume they are in orbit, on the moon, on other solar planets and also in other earth oceans.
One city for instance finds itself in danger (of being annoyed) in one deep part of the world will then cause alarm bells to ring in another deep part
of the world or orbit and before you know it, our electrics have been switched off, our military infrastructure is dead and switched off and we have
returned to the stone age or at least an age that would resemble a mad max universe and all prior to either being told off or being spanked by the
real sentient intelligences that exist on and near this world.
No sir, I doubt that the world governments would dare pull off such a thing if that was the reasoning behind causing an oil spill. Governments do not
like to go to war with an enemy that is a military equal and so will certainly not be looking in any way to antagonize something they have no
intelligence on and with that in mind only a fool with a death wish makes an enemy of something he/she has no understanding of.
If our governments really were that crazy and suicidal minded then I would think it more likely that they would pull some sort of a fast one with us
all, spank North Korea around a bit and then set off some deep underwater nuclear detonations and blame those detonations on a series of North Korean
misfires that were knocked out of the sky by ship based defenses (or missile shield) rather than send a seeping red death to extraterrestrial
colonies.
A highly advanced extraterrestrial civilisation that can cross the stars in vast numbers, set up home on foreign worlds and then be so ingeniously
secretive as to remain off the grid for so long as we grew into the eater hive mind that we have become is indicative that we are not a threat to them
but to ourselves only, and the other much more innocent and undeserving (of our contempt) life forms we share the earth with.
