Yes, they have the capability of interstellar travel but a substance we remove from seabirds with dishsoap will decimate their highly advanced underwater civilization.

but thats the thing if it is true then to what extent would we be willing to go to and why.

We wouldn’t utilize an oil spill as a last resort weapon, that’s for sure.

A deliberately provoked environmental disaster could be considered a suicide weapon for the immediate area it is unleashed in, not to mention further afield.

What would make us destroy our oceans

We wouldn’t. If we did, we would die too.

It isn’t feasible in the slightest.

mabey their elbows are on their ears and their ears are on their elbows, and they talk in a dialect that is exactly backward french, and they are powered mainly by Cheetos brand corn chips. They may as well, now that were speculating, be super tiny. but like the power-rangers, they can metamorphisize into some larger robot-alien type creature whose primary function is to widdle trees into toothpicks. For this task, they need oil and trees, but they can only extract oil that has been dispersed in large bodies of water. and THAT is the reason why aliens are definitely behind the oil spill.

As a theory, it has more holes than BP's pipeline.

And it needs to be in Skunk Works, too.
