I think the reason a lot of people are scared is because of how many people have predicted something happening during this week. I've seen at least ten predictions (in the range of the 20th - 27th) about some major disaster occurring, and with the combination of Timewave Zero predicting something happening and the symbolism of the numbers 6 and 23, paranoia is running wild.

People are also scared, and rightfully so, because of the amount of oil/gas floating around the gulf with the hurricane season just getting started.

Oone of the side-effects of this thread, and the other recent thread on a similar theme, is this;

They have completely destroyed the credibility of the word "CONFIRMED"!

you are seeing a lot of predictions becuase the schools are closing for summer the colleges are finished up. The schoolkids and students are on here entertaining themselves while on holidays. They can now dedicate all their free time to this.
Just like a lot of stuff on the internet now this is all just pure fantasy. These fantasy stories are all just feeding off each other from lots of different sites.

MSM, not MSN. MSM is Main Stream Media. The propaganda put out on CNN and FOX and MSNBC and the AP (Associated Press) and Reuters, and whatever particular news outlet you are fond of on your local TV or Cable.

ATS is consistently ahead of all those outlets by days with breaking news. I have converted my father and brother and several coworkers to watching ATS instead of News. I have pointed out stories that they were kind of iffy about until they popped up on the MSM a few days later.

The other outlet that I use is RSOE EDIS. Google it. That site is OUTSTANDING at reporting breaking news and a short follow up and the majority of the time you will never hear about it on the MSM.

For instance, there are about 100 airplane incidents per day in the US. There are about 10-15 active volcanoes with periodic eruptions that you never hear about. There are dozens of Earthquakes around the Caribbean, in Central Arkansas, in Georgia, in Kentucky. You never hear about those in MSM.

I haven't seen any increase in the frequency of predictions. There's always some major prediction every 2-3 months here on ATS.

There is enough gloom out there at the moment that it is so easy for someone to start a doom thread up every day and get a stack of flags and stars.

I see what you are getting at there and i am not singling you out its just going over the top with the doom threads.
