The F-22 project was cancelled, go read a newspaper from like 2 years ago

I don't know anything about the FB-22 program, but I do know the F-22 fighter program was not canceled, just reduced. I don't remember what the original number of aircraft in the program was, but the program was cut to something like 180. I am a pilot, and I fly with Air Force guys who have buddies flying the F-22 right now. Everyone says that the aircraft is the most unbelievable fighter ever built, and these guys know what they're talking about. They fly aircraft like the F-15, and F-16. I believe the F-22 will be the last dedicated air superiority, MANNED fighter aircraft. After this, unmanned aircraft will be flying the air superiority mission. Amazingly, most pilots being trained in the Air Force right now are going into drone flying, not manned aircraft. The times, they are-a-changin....

No! Probably the FB-22 program is canceled, but what i do concern here is the next phase capability of the Raptor. I mean, PAK FA was made as an export fighter, while the F-22 not. What if the F-22 meet a PAK FA user one day? The US and the Russia wouldn't be in a conflict, but the US and the other might. I mean, the capability of F-22 block 40 has is an equivalent to the Russian PAK FA. What i want to know right here is the analysis of dogfight scenario between them both... a detail analysis

How about you do some research and study on the subject and post here what you come up with?

I also dont think the PAK-FA was built to surpass the F-22 but to be as good as the F-22 within some aspects. But its hard to tell how good the PAK FA is going to be compared to the F-22, because the PAK FA is still being modified.

There is an outstanding budget request for around $8billion to upgrade the F-22s to the standard originally RFPed for.

Its always going to be difficult to judge the one against the other, as no airforce will ever own both, and there isnt enough information in the public domain on either to provide a good enough comparison.

Couple of things to remember here.

Not all of the F-22's will be combat coded and not all are even at the Block 30 level yet.

My guess here about a notational Block 40 F-22 would be more an evolution of its existing systems rather that a whole redsign of its wing etc.

Items like the helmet cued sight found on the F-35
lateral radar arrays (were planned but canceled, may come back)
a more refined electronic attack.
etc.
