Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Israel's deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid convoy marks the beginning of the end for the regime.

Presstv Article

Israel is facing international condemnation over the attack that claimed at least 20 lives and wounded dozens more. Several European states have summoned Israeli ambassadors over the assault. Ahmadinejad condemned the move on Monday, saying the attack on the Freedom Flotilla was a sign of Israel's weakness.

"A select few (Israel) think that such actions are a sign of power, whereas they should be aware this will lead to their end," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying on Monday by Fars News Agency.

"Someone asked me why I no longer say Israel must be torn down. I said because there is no (no longer a)need to say Israel must be demolished -- as this regime will self destruct," he added. The Iranian president also called on Tel Aviv's allies to stop supporting a regime that acts like a "professional assassin."

"The time is ripe for the international community and the conscientious to take a resolute stance against the recurring crimes of this occupier and belligerent regime," Ahmadinejad said. The convoy, consisting of nine ships, was carrying 10,000 tons of supplies and hundreds of politicians, activists and journalists.

The Flotilla was seeking to break Israel's crippling blockade of Gaza and deliver basic necessities to the impoverished Palestinians living in the coastal enclave.

I wonder who will "end" them and how he expects their "end" to happen? The international community he says. I guess time will tell, it's going to be a very interesting week to come.

Hopefully , it will indeed be a very interesting week ahead , instead of this getting brushed aside and poo-pooed simply because it is god'schosen who attacked and boarded a humanitarian ship in international waters , killing civilians in the process .

You can bet that if this was anyone other than Is-Ra-El , the sh*t would be hitting the fan pretty quick .

I can't help but feel as though this is some type of diversion .

The whole world is watching this now , so what is it that we should REALLY be watching instead ?

Why would they attack and board a ship in international waters , killing people in the process , knowing it would receive worldwide criticism ?

Something else is going on ...

Is the Gulf oil leak about to be nuked ?

Is Iran about to be attacked ?

North Korea ?

What ?

All of this might have something to do with the 'history-making' information that Wikileaks has said they intend to release also .

Something is definitely going down in the near future I believe .

I suppose this confirms what Iran-apologists were saying all along, that Mr. A of Iran wanted the destruction of the State, not the citizenry of Israel. It's nice to see that this is yet another case in which Israel was crying wolf about anti-semitism for political points.

edit: I say "nice" not because I hate Israel, but because I think that Israel's eagerness to play the holocaust card has cheapened the tragedy of that period of history and its effect on the various Jewish populations of the world; moreover I think that Israel's political rhetoric attempts to tie the fate of every Jew together with Israel's. The combination of these two factors makes the naive supports of Israel into targets of Israel's political enemies when they would not have been otherwise.

I wish it was too. But unfortunately I don't see that happening. Iran needs something to take attention off the whole issue of sanctions. And keeping Israel tied up with their Imperial concerns over their occupied territory is a good way to make their propaganda machine shut up about the whole issue of nuclear proliferation.

But I don't think much is going to happen on that front in any real terms next week. It will be more sabre rattling and more rhetoric and more media spectacle as both sides engage in a concerted effort to obfuscate the whole issue and shore up support.

I don't know if they've got "The boy who cried wolf" in that part of the world but they really need to consider giving it a read.

"Israel ran around and called all the villagers, WAR! WAR! he shouted, but none of them came to help because they didn't believe him."
