Tropical storm leaves more than 115 dead in Central America

Because its been stated numerous times that the first pic is from 2007 and the latter one is recent.

I want to know where are all the usual sub-surface things like sewage pipes, water pipes, etc.?

Wouldn't the ends of them be seen on the sides of at least some of the pictured holes?

this is Guatemala. do they even have them?

As a Floridian, I am familiar with sink holes. The round shape is common. I don't know how deep it is, but it gets black all at once. I wonder it there is water at the bottom. If they have the same karst that we have, there could be an undergound river flowing at the bottom. I don't think there is any thing other worldly or "interworldly" about it. There could have been a lot of acids that were eroding the area before Agatha hit. Cities put out a lot of toxic substances. Still, it is amazing!

There are pipes and various things sticking out from the side. View the available pictures again.

Mother Nature always, always has the last word! I saw one of these in Northern Brazil one time, just appeared over night on this guys ranch, after a big ass storm. I'd say it was the same size. Awesome.

The 2007 hole was created by a broken sewage pipe. At least that is what they told us.

It had gotten to be 50 across and over 100 meters deep where a river of sewage had naturally formed.
