What is Assad hiding in his backyard?

Satellite photos of secret Syrian site depict at least five guarded installations whose purpose is unclear.

All the photos, the dates they were taken and their precise locations are available online via Google Earth.

The 200-square-kilometer area in question is 30 kilometers north of Syria's northernmost border with Lebanon. The nearest town is Masyaf, which has 35,000 residents and is in the Hama district. so Syria is hiding something.. what could it be? the article suggests it may be all of iraq's checmical and biological weapons.. only rumours of course.. maybe its their nuclear program? i dk. but its also come to light that there in fact no scuds in lebanon possessed by hezbollah... but there are scuds in syria possesed by hezbollah...

Hizbullah has a missile base in Syria, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi in Italy, Channel 2 news reported Saturday.

Syria agreed to transfer Scud missiles to Hizbullah after intense and repeated efforts by Iran to convince it an Israeli attack in the north was imminent, the report added.

However, the weapons were not transferred out of Syria, but instead Hizbullah was allowed to have a base inside Syria, according to the report.

This reports follows a report by The Times of London on Friday that satellite photos show that Hizbullah terrorists have been living in armed bases stocked with surface-to-surface missiles in Syria.

Oh no, not this crap again. If that would be the case, you Yanks would have known it, and if you would have known it, you would have found yourself a nice little reason to bring democracy to Syria. I'm sure Israel would have been more than willing to check your six.

The fact that no WMDs were found was a big humiliation, if there would be any suspicion that Syria would now possess these weapons, the world would know.

And the world knew all about that Syrian reactor prior to Israel bombing it in 2007? Not so much.
