ElectricUniverse, I'm fairly new around here but I have learned how ignorant this place is regarding the middle east.

For some reason there is a source of hatred against Israel around here that can't be logically explained.

How many people are going to be more than happy if Israel will get hit by nukes, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians that don't have anything to do with the government or the army?

More than enough people.

Just don't take them seriously, instead, lol at the ignorance.
Friendly tip

Edit: @tetrahedron - wow! sane people on my ATS!

Heh.

Well mr. hot pot, try asking yourself why did tanks had to enter the Gaza strip.
Was it because the evil Jews were hungry for arab babies? Or was it the heaps of oil in Gaza? Or the technological secrets? Or is it just that the Israelies are sick of annoying Gaza folks stealing their oxygen?

...

It was due to 8 constant years of Kassam rocket attacks on Sderot and Ashkelon.

Name one country in history that would not retaliate at a missile launched at one of it's cities.

...But don't worry, the Turkish navy is here to save the day! HAHA!

The real question is how will the US respond to this. If we side with Turkey, it will be a slap in the face of Isreal. If we side with Isreal, then we take a chance of insulting Turkey. One of the problems is that Turkey is now working with Iran, a country that does not like the US, and this makes matters very difficult to say the least. The worlds eyes are once again on the US and to see how we react, and which ally we choose to side with.

All of the anti-Israeli members of the abovetopsecret.com community are going to be soaking their heads when they realize the vast majority of the air-power that Israel possesses, which is in fact larger than Turkeys, is made up of the only real air-based weapon of war that is going to matter in the next hundred years; the drone. With Israel's cache of drone technology, they will crush anyone who dares cross their borders. Imagine for a moment the grainy gun-cam images of a drone planting a hellfire missile in the middle of a crowd of IED planters. Now, apply the same force to a squadron of infantry, a battalion of land based weapons platforms, or a fleet of naval vessels. Nuclear weapons are not necessary. Any invasion of Israel would be repelled with brutal and swift resolve.

The US has an obligation through NATO to stand by NATO countries. But the Khazars have their tentacles in the administration (for the past 60 years quite frankly) and the US will eventually side the the apartheid State. The US will soon be weak because they allowed themselves to be run down like whores, so their opinion and influence will soon be diminished. Obama will play ball and defend the apartheid State, but America is not the world and its power is decreasing everyday. The apartheid State will get whats coming to it.

I doubt Turkey will not go against NATO (which includes the US) and go to full scale war with Israel. Cooler heads will prevail.

But if Iran starts supporting Hamas to go after Israel then Israel will go after Iran. Then the US steps in. Then China and Russia start filtering weapons in to the region. And then ... maybe it goes nuclear and millions of people die.

On all sides.

Is that what people in this forum want? Cause I can guarantee you it will not stop at Turkey & Israel if that's where it does indeed start.

Wow, anti-semitism runs strong on ATS.

People here need to know their history a bit better. But unfortunately, the majority of people seem to have gone through the United States Public School system, where there is a deliberate dumbing down of the youth. Seriously people, learn some history.

Here is a short lesson for you.
On May 15, 1967, Israeli intelligence discovered that Egypt was concentrating large-scale forces in the Sinai peninsula - remember this is before the days of satellite intelligence. On May 19, the United Nations Emergency Force stationed on the border between Egypt and Israel was evacuated at the demand of Egypt's president, Gamal Abdel-Nasser. During the night of May 22-23, Egypt's navy blockaded the Straits of Tiran opening into the Indian Ocean, prohibiting passage to Israeli ships. On May 30, Jordan joined the Egyptian-Syrian alliance of 1966 and placed its armies under Egyptian command. Iraq followed suit shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, military detachments from other Arab countries began arriving. By the end of May, Israel confronted a Muslim force of 465,000 troops, 2,880 tanks and 810 fighter aircraft along the entire length of her borders with Arab countries, which had not been there less than a month earlier.

As Arab radio crackled with "drive-them-into-the-sea" rhetoric, the situation became very tense. Technically, the Egyptian blockade of the Straits of Tiran could probably be considered the first bellicose act of war, but there had been no violence or lives lost. Despite a huge Egyptian army threatening its southern border, Israel tried to diplomatically defuse the crisis by approaching Britain and France, who had guaranteed freedom of Israeli navigation. Those counties reneged on their promise. U.S. President Johnson proposed breaking the blockade with an international armada. In a May 28 broadcast, Israel's Prime Minister Levi Eshkol agreed to wait and see.

By June 4 it became clear that diplomatic channels had failed. Faced with imminent danger, Israel launched a preemptive air strike to shatter Arab air forces while their aircraft were still on the ground, a move which succeeded. During the six days of the war, in fierce fighting Israel took the Golan Heights from Syria, the Sinai Desert from Egypt, and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, from Jordan - all of the territories that have been on the table for negotiation during the Oslo Peace Process. Israel returned the Sinai to Egypt during the historic Camp David agreement under President Jimmy Carter, negotiated between Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. Sadat would later pay for this with his life as the result of an assassination. The remaining territories are still held by Israel. The Palestinians view these lands as having been seized and occupied by Israeli aggression, while Israelis view them as spoils of a war they didn't start or want.

Now the question, why is it that Israel is always the one who has to defend itself against agressors? If you had people smuggling, or attempting to smuggle guns/drugs etc into your country and you knew when they were coming, you would fight to the bitter end to stop them, and would tell everyone else to go to hell who said you were just the worlds trouble maker.

Double standards people.
Stop your ill informed hating.

what a fool you are, who`s `insisting´ on what?. The only thing that is insistant as well as persistant is the brutal illegal occupation of Jews on Palestinian land. Learn!

I believe it is more difficult than that. We need allies in that part of the world, and Turkey is an ally of Nato, however, our relationship with both Turkey and Isreal is strained right now. If we side with Israel, then we loose the support of Turkey, Egypt, and take a chance of loosing the Saudi's as well. If we side with Turkey, then we loose a major ally in the region.

This puts Obama in a place he definantly doesnt want to be in and it'll be interesting to see how he handles this one. One things for sure, he will side with Israel or he can kiss his political career over and he knows it.

With each passing year I view military organizations more like corporations. The product they are selling is war.

From a corporate perspective, the more product sold, the more profit made.

I have also come to realize corporations run every major govt. around the world.

I do not support war. It is the most profitable racket in the world and the currency is death and destruction.

Its time that WTP say NO TO WAR.

Loosing Israel as an "ally" is like removing a cancer from your body. What have they done for America? I know they did the USS Liberty and 9/11 but tell me something else they did for America as an ally?

And no, I am not an "anti-Semite". Khazars were not, are not, and will never be Semites.

Well, at least no one's talking about war in North Korea today.

I wonder if Israel used this as a way to try and get the Arab nations in the area to attack them so they can use as an excuse for a pre emptive strike against Iran?

Hold on to your hats folks, this could get messy.

In the article, it states "The world is waiting from a response from Washington?". I'm sure Obama will find a way to defend Israel's actions, and the USA veto any vote on sanctions in the UN security council.
