Turkey threatens action

This has the potential of escalation. Israel has one choice. End the blockade. That's how it appears now.

Oh my this news does not sound good.

The cold war is back with a vengeance. Let's hope and pray it does not escalate into war.

Well the fact is Turkey can't do it fully because they will not be able to enter Israeli water's. But its definitely a defiant measure for sure.

If turkey are to escort the flotilla then they will enforce the fact that only 'allowed' items are to be taken into gaza. I cant see turkey 'helping' with the 'smuggling in' of said items.

Not good.

So... Turkey's navy is going to escort the next one. It'll be met by Israels navy... Tensions will escalate...here's hoping a mistake isn't made. A word misinterpreted...or an action...trigger fingers will be tense on both sides.

Here's hoping cooler heads will out number hot ones... The angels of our better natures, if you will.

Catch a fire ...... your right what we need to do is take aid which they need not what they are allowed.

Heres what i would do if i had to power to do so : call a live TV broadcast and say right this is what is going to happen your going to allow people to live in peace and happiness. You have 2 days to stop the block aid.

Then suggest if its not done within the 2 days every country who knows right and wrongs will send ships with food aid and what ever they require and if you fight on one ship, your goverment will no continue.

If you have to fight back to the bully we will.

Sorry but I think this is good news , it's about time that someone had the spuds to stand up to Israel

Whats Israel going to do , start a war with Turkey .... I don't think so .
The only way to beat a BULLY is to stand up to them .

That may or may not be true, i don't know, but its immaterial. If Israel believes its their waters it would be very, very dangerous by Turkey.
I'm not defending Israel, i am just telling it how it is.

Allowed by whom?

Maybe Turkey sees things in a similar light to the US where aid might include equipment designed for fighting terrorism.

Lets hope Israel finally does the right thing.

I think the Israels wouldn't show restraint, nor would any other country if their territorial waters are threatened. Would Turkey stop you from approaching the Kurds with supplies, hell no they would shoot you. If you approached a military embargo what do expect to be the response! The Palestinian people are just a excuse for the Turkish, they repress the Kurds, kill them, and exterminate them just like they accuse the Israel's of doing.

As to Escalation I don't think Turkey has anything technologically compared to Israel and it will be a (bad pun) turkey shoot for the IDF. Even if they left today with a new flotilla it will be next week before they arrive.

Summer of war is what I predict, just don't know what the catalyst will be, but this might be it

The Israeli government....
If Israel arent allowing certain items in and this is what genuinely caused this latest 'incident' then wouldnt Turkey have to abide by this?.

Good on Turkey for not letting Israel get away with this and having the minerals to stand up to them. If Turkey do send there Navy with the next flotilla things could get very messy (and i go on holiday to Turkey in a week). If Israel attacked the Turkish navy on route to Gaza i just hope my government does the right thing.

Except....Turkey is in the process of joining the EU, If Israel are seen to be the aggressors the EU countries will have a really hard time standing by. Turkey is responding on humanitarian terms, Israel will need to walk very softly.

What turkey is doing is completely legal, unlike other countries they at least have the balls to do it. Any attack on Turkish ships accompanying the aid convoy is a preemptive act of war under international law, Israel knows it as do the Turks which is why they have taken this course of action. I wouldn't worry about a war breaking out, Israel will let this shipment of aid pass without much fuss...unless they are even more crazy than i thought, which is hard to imagine.

Well, the Israeli blockade of Gaza is illegal. So, the Turks decides to bring in aid to a suffering Palestinian people, escorted by their navy due to the last convoy being raided by (according to international maritime laws) pirates.

So, Israel attacks the Turkish ships. An attack on Turkey is an attack on ALL NATO-members according to article 5 in the treaty. The very same article the U.S invoked after 9/11 to get support for their "war on terror".

Thus the end game begins...

Not really, I don't see any reason why Turkey necessarily need abide by the wishes of a state that is breach of international law and occupying a nation in contravention of UN resolutions.

Turkey is part of nato I believe so any attack on a turkey military vessel means Israel is attacking Nato. I dont think Europe is going to sit back either and Europes own army may be called in. Dosent look good for israel and serves them right warmongering fools.
I am just glad Israel isnt part of nato coz if they was this will be one hell of political alliance fallout.

If there is a war to break out between Turkey and Israel, NATO will be required to assist Turkey in the war. Wouldn't that just be hilarious!?

USA will have to choose once and for all on the public stage, are you with your western alliance of NATO or with Israel?
