1. Assume nothing.

2. Acknowledge there are always things you will not know and will never experience and that others may know better than you.

3. Live each day as if it will be your last and leave no debts of any kind behind.

4. Do not let fear of little things take over your life.

5. Within the chaos that is life, try to ensure that the little steps you take make a positive difference to those around you.

6. Expect everything.

One can only experience pleasure when one has experienced pain.

A problem is only a problem when someone makes it a problem.

Don't do to someone else, what you do not want someone else to do to you.

Make love... A lot of it.

Don't blame others for your own mistakes.

so anyway state your philosophy(ies)
and a little bit on why you have that outlook
illl start

1-the truth is like an expensive whore she beds with any who have the coin to pamper her. do not overcomplicate life with the search for one unifying truth, there is none.
1. i have a bit if a nihlistic view on life. I dont think theres any universal truth. i think we are all just dust in the wind, we live then we die end of story

2-golden rule: whoever has the gold makes the rules
2. the world is a fascist regime i think #2 speaks for itself

"Love thy Neighbour"

If we all followed that the rest would sort itself out!

In the beginning, there was only consciousness. The singular and infinite consciousness became bored and lonely. so it decided to create a perfect game to trick itself into not feeling lonely. It shattered itself into an infinite number of pieces, each becoming a singular entity. We are the game players, and the "alien" is the game keeper, ensuring that the game goes on. We are here to learn, grow, and experience the game.
Death and Pain are only a temporary illusion to give this game stakes. but in the end, its just a game, to keep us from realizing the ultimate scary truth, that we all part of one consciousness, that is the only true consciousness, and it is the ONLY thing in the universe/existance.

If you find that idea scary, dont worry, your guess is just as good as mine.

"When someone asks you if you're a god you say YES!"

That's the only philosophy you'll ever need. Just remember it.

well hear are my thoughts on:
Deng Xiaoping Theory
i like the phrase "seek truth from facts"
i also noticed that didnt care about socialism or capitolism just whatever was efficient, i found that interesting. i have a phrase when i play videogames, when people scream at me for using noob tactics, i say it doesnt matter "if it works use it".

Three Represents
i like thiso ne alot, they want a mixed government, in fact i had been thinking of something similiar lateley, where everyone is given a job and no one is left jobless or homeless, but our freeedoms are still protected
i always thought nobody should go hungry or homeless in this country.
in short i communistic capitolist system is what i like.

Scientific Development Concept
theres not much i can say about it that i didnt say about three represents

1- life is a b*tch only if you are
2- nothing's true, everything's permitted
3- calm seas don't make good sailors

those phrases aren't mine, but I follow them

To OP: Great thread

Overall I think that it was summed up best by Roseanne, "We believe in being good people."

More specifically I follow the Christian Ethos in broad strokes. With some anarchist leanings.

I question everything.

I tend to find that the old masters, Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Adam Smith, and the like had more than a glimmer of truth to share, and that their words are even more misquoted and selectively applied than the Bible.

Last and by no means least, as I hope this warning gets to everyone. Truth is simply knowledge. Any knowledge can be gained, but the terrible truth of all knowledge is that one needs to follow the warning of caveat emptor. You can not unlearn something. The truth is not something you may really want to know. Unfortunately once you do have it you're stuck with it, as you really truly can't give it away.

these are some good philosophies...
but the more I think about it the more I realize just how impossible it would be to convey to you all what my true philosophies, they branch off; some perhaps contradict each other.... in different situations, my philosophies might be subject to change, while remaining stable in my beliefs outside of that situation.

anyway here's some good quotes

"Happiness Must Be Earned" (end writing in the stars of a nighttime sky) The Thief of Bagdad (1924)

'The Public Enemy' is, not a man, nor is it a character -- it is a problem that sooner or later WE, the public, must solve. The Public Enemy (1931)

“I'm sorry for everybody in the world, I guess.” Rain (1932)

“What man's mind can conceive, man's character can control. Man must learn that, and then we needn't be afraid of tomorrow. And man will go forward toward more light.” Edison, The Man (1940)

“That's what makes us tough. Rich fellas come up an' they die an' their kids ain't no good, an' they die out. But we keep a-comin'. We're the people that live. They can't wipe us out. They can't lick us. And we'll go on forever, Pa... 'cause... we're the people.” The Grapes of Wrath (1940)

“Men like my father cannot die. They are with me still, real in memory as they were in flesh, loving and beloved forever. How green was my valley then.” How Green Was My Valley (1941)

“There's a lot to be said for making people laugh! Did you know that's all some people have? It isn't much, but it's better than nothing in this cockeyed caravan! Boy!” Sullivan’s Travels (1941)

I pretty much follow the Wiccan Rede

"As it harms none, do what ye will" (or some variation of that)

I try to stick to the zen concept of do what you need then and there. If I need to eat, I eat. If I need to sleep, I sleep. Of course the cosmic joke is I am hyperactive and have anxiety so I don't follow this near as much as I want to. Working on it though

Mine are

1) Police are murderers that kill for there friends against people who do nothing.
2) Stay away from all females, and the fact that i do not like them, make sure to do as they are dangerous. My life has proven how dangeorus lack of interest in them is very dangerous.
3) 90% of people are murderers, just desperate to destroy anyone and even go all the way and take your life.
4) Do not follow anyones words unless you are sure they touch you something inside, only a few you find will give you truths for you.
5) Money is not important like females, you people are all cashing it, but for me they just are a waste of life spending you time on or with.

Well mine are always changing the more I learn in this life, so my number one philosophy is always be prepared for change.

2. Truth is perceived, fact is what is.
3. In the words of the great Gene Wilder, "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest man."
4. Get out and get some air, never no when you may run out of it sometime.
5. Dream what you can but always keep reality close, otherwise your nightmares may come knocking at your door first.

Those are just a few, just like most I will be working on these the rest of my life.
