They ought to quit wasting energy bashing politicians. It will result in absolutely nothing.
[edit on 30-5-2010 by Skyfloating]

It will result in new politicians. Hopefully one day Americans will wake up and stop electing multi-millionaires and multi-billionaires in to political office and start electing people with moral fiber and respect.

Oh yes, and bad SNL comedians. I'd be happy to try for an election where only plumbers can run for office.

Bashing Obama is not wrong. There are plenty of legitimate things to criticize him for.

What is stupid is the abundance of idiotic ObamaisKenyanMuslimNaziSocialist threads.

OMG these are complete lies.

Anti-right wing threads are a dime a dozen on ATS and if the terms and conditions are followed they never get locked.

Dare I ask, you to PROVE your claims?

You cannot prove it though because it's totally untrue...

I agree with that. I highly doubt that any of the actual owners of the website subscribe to either Democrat, Republican or Tea Party ideologies.

As far as I can tell, I would classify them as independants based on their participation in discussions surrounding politics.

Perhaps because the country is bankrupt, but he can't spend money we don't have fast enough on some idiotic social program or another.

Do a little googling on China holding US debt and ask yourself if we should keep going down that road.

And I can hear some of you now:

"BUT BUSH WAS SPENDING A LOT TOO!!!1!!1"

Yes he did. So Obama should have came into office cutting spending across the board to get the deficit under control, instead of looking for new things to spend money on.

A failure as a president so far.....

The majority of people in the USA (or the ones who voted for Obama)
did so because McCain was a *Republican* (as was Bush)

Since unintelligent people make the correlation one Republican
is the same as the other, and because Obama *made promises*
(all of which he did NOT keep) people were desperate for *Change*
hence: the overwhelming support for Obama via votes.

A perfectly reasonable hypothesis, but fatally flawed as you make the assumption that the voter block is "unintelligent". All assumptions based on painting the subject with a broad brush are dead from the start. I believe that the voters are largely a smart bunch - but the charlatan has a silver tongue and he was telling people what they wanted to hear.

That being said, I DO agree that O was elected because people wanted change. Unfortunately, his brand of change is largely more of the same on the backs of the American people.

All politicians needs to be voted out, all current candidates need
to be publicly evaluated based on certain preconditions AND need to actually
represent us, the people. These people today aren't doing so for the common good.

Establishing a base-requirement (I.E. - the Republican Creedo in GA) is contrary to the very principles of the American form of government. Unfortunately, the system itself breeds corruption and the people who actually want to help the citizens end up being pushed out either through outright hostility or simply disgust at seeing the maiden without any clothes.

Were I to be in charge for 30 seconds, I'd abolish ALL lobbyists and corporate money from the system. That alone would cause a HUGE change in our government as it would put the power and the focus back on the people

Seriously, get over yourself. Go get the definition of Teabagger and post it here and compare it to what you just posted. A Democrat is a member of the party. A teabagger has NOTHING to do with the Tea Party. It isn't the Tea Bagger Party. You people had to go out of your way to pick up a slang term for a disgusting sexual act and put that label on people you disagree with. I've never heard anyone complain about the use of Democrat Party. What a load of BS.

[edit on 30-5-2010 by ararisq]

You've never heard anyone complain because you won't on Fox News and among your Tea party and Conservative pals. Rest assured - it is a slur, and has always been a slur.
en.wikipedia.org...

Now as to the teabagger phrase, here's a reality check - the Tea Party EMBRACED the term from the get-go. They adopted it and even created tea-bag jewelry. It was only after the OTHER definition was pointed out that they quickly backtracked from their once-heralded moniker.

Here's a brief explanation on how the phrase got it's association with the party.

washingtonindependent.com...

If you wish to continue acting as a troll and using the slur for Democrats, then so be it. However, you are simply branding yourself as part of the problem with the system and anything but a contributor to a solution

oh please. I don't dislike Obama because he's black, half muslim, or any other meaningless thing. I don't like Obama because he built most of his campaign about being different from the Republican party, specifically on energy, and then went and did exactly what he campaigned against.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama's "change" motto becomes "drill baby drill"

edit to add

what happened to all those jobs he was going to create through green energy? "Home-grown American jobs"

Whoever the next president is will have just as many hate threads.

The fact that he is black and has an "un-american" name just gives the ignorant white trash right wing tea party idiots a reason to hate even more. The slack-jawed artards couldn't even define socialism, but they think it sounds good because they heard some other slack-jawed white trash idiots saying the same thing.

Even though it's apparetly since been removed and deemed accordingly, I had it open in a separate tab for to reply to...

The blatantly obvious comedic irony demonstrated is just too rich in comparison.

You're, demonstrably, no different nor better than those "ignorant white trash right wing tea party idiots" you quite obviously detest, hate and take affront to.

Sorry for the delayed response, but I had some errands to run and what not ...

Talk about a textbook example of "pot meet kettle", with Both calling the other black, and Neither seeing nor realizing the Identical and Obvious similarities between the two.

Nice show of the skirt, though
... However unappealing.

too damned funny

*mods. do with this as you wish, but that level of ignorance is just begging to be made an example of/exposed to the light of day. :shk:

1. A general hate against any institution perceived to be part of "TBTB"

2. A general sense of the president being a sham no matter who he is

3. A specific belief that this President is part of a secret plot in a more direct way than any of his predecessors.

4. Plain old, mostly unacknwoledged racism.

5. Economic troubles

6. Many persons on the internet don't have a real life

7. political ignorance; f.e. the example that Obama is doing something different than his predecessors or the belief that the president hast much beef to start with.

8. Mis- and Disinformation

I could go on.

Until I saw NishirasuKen's comment, I was losing hope. Reply after reply...Sheesh. Do Americans still even believe their elections are real? Probably some still believe in the tooth fairy, but seriously!

Do Americans actually think there is any real difference between Democrats and Republicans? Wake up! It is a ONE party system, had been for a long time. You do not have a choice, it is an illusion.

THEREFORE, Obama is exactly who TPTB wanted as their figurehead, and so we have him. Is he even "natural-born"? Who cares, that's the least of our problems! He IS a good speaker, and that's what he's there for. He's sort of the messenger too, as well as a figurehead. So, let's give credit where credit is due. We should all admit that Obama is a much more articulate messenger than his predecessor, at the very least.

Now, I'd like to see what happened to that Obama and Bush being gay thread, I'm only getting 404's on that one the past couple of hours...Hmmm.

The deliberate decision to refer to the Democratic Party as the Democrats actually is intended as a slur. Google it; it was a big story... You know.. with the Al Gore "Rats" and all.. I think it traces back to Frank Luntz but that was so many years ago I'm not sure I remember correctly...

Not that I find anything wrong with making the "RAT" suffix obligatory for all parties that have shared the power for so long.

I don't hate Obama, I hate myself for voting for him.

He has an agenda like all the rest, and I'm sure it's not for the good of the people. After 8 years of Bush I was too easily duped by this man. Now we have the Democrat version Bush in office; A selfish politician out to serve himself and his big banking and big oil cronies. I Should've stuck to my guns and voted for the third party as usual.
