All the muck in those pictures is a direct result of billions of humans and rampant irresponsible behavior.

Its not the fault of their societies, its the fault of their governments of third world countries that rather the money from revenue taxes went into the likes of Corporate interest's suchas illegal firearm trades and the drug runners trades. You blame their society for the wrong doing's when IF you actually LOOK outside the box its the fault of the system that's being RUN from a corrupt political system. You all know the people can't get there in that mess of a situation without the IGNORANCE of the people in POWER "TPTB". The Power's To Be! Profit from poverty and destruction, LOOK outside pandora's box and you'll see the truth unfold before your eyes IF your willing. War's/Poverty/Destruction/Drug trade/Arms trade/Extortion/Human-Trafficking/World Recession, com'mon its not that hard to work it out!

We put those people because we CHOSE government's who we wanted to be in the TPTB. Oh yeah so go ahead and blame their society for their mess and disease and loss when in fact its our system's that corrupt's their system because our Western world Power's To Be have designed the system to take from the people and those in Third World Countries suffer more because of us!

The overpopulation is not a problem, The problem is attitude and noisiness and aggressive extreme longevity of reality Over the years from there brain construct an understanding of the world with there self .

Much like if a person lived near a small river for thousands of years and a group of new people came and put posters up and junk all over there river. The people who was already there would say ...The world is overpopulated by the way the others treated .

Cool Article!

Some though are bunk...How does chopping down trees make an area one of the 15 most toxic places twice?

Rondônia, Brazil Rondônia is a state in northwest Brazil which, along with the states of Mato Grosso and Pará, is one of the most deforested regions of the Amazon rain forest. Thousands of acres of forest have been slashed and burned here, mostly to make room for cattle ranching.

The nation of Haiti was once 60 percent covered in forest. Today, only 2 percent of the country still has standing trees. This picture shows an aerial of the border between Haiti (left) and the Dominican Republic (right). Haiti has cleared almost every tree right up to its borders. And with the recent devastating earthquake, the island's environmental situation has worsened.

These pictures are truly moving. It is terrible to see our planet squandered in such a manner. However, the majority of these pictures came from countries that would be classified as second world at best.

I believe that the situations in these countries are a result of said countries irresponsible demand for independence. Many African and Asian nations were formed due to the responses of civilians against western imperialism. The end of WWII brought about the independence of many nations, particularly in Africa. The vast majority of these countries that pushed for independence had neither the political or economical maturity to govern themselves in the modern age.

This mass pollution, while horrible, was brought upon these nations that desired independence over all other concerns. Is it possible that these nations would be better off environmentally had they remained under colonial rule? That is debatable.

I do know this much - All of the second and third world countries in existence today would have been better off under the rule of first world European and American countries(with notable exceptions, such as the Belgian Congo). Their uncompromising desire for independence has led to the very ecological problems that we see today. There are no first world governments on location to protect these countries from corporate exploitation. And, as many have pointed out on this thread, it is corporate exploitation that has led, in no small part, to the ecological disasters that we in the world see today.

It is not only greed that motivates these disasters. It is the exploitation of "freedom" and the clear economic benefits that corporations gain from said freedom that result in these ecological disasters.

Yours is an ignorant solution. We are not having population issues, we are having responsibility issues. If every person tended to themselves in such a way that made themselves and their neighbors more healthy, there would be no harm in any specific number of people.

We are like locusts and we are swarming because we are too close to each other in terms of living conditions. We are like rams and we butt heads because we do not know how to communicate in a civilized manner.

So long as people are not self-governed, so long as people are not godly (orderly and charitable), we are simply animals with greater blessings; and those false shepherds in power will sacrifice the weak upon the altars of pride and chaos.

Does no one understand? Why are you waiting for the end of the world? Today is the end of the world. Today is the new day to make things well. God has expressed provision, and Their children do the same. The children of pride and chaos are thieves who wander without direction.

What happens when you don't know better? Or, not like they are getting clean by bein in that water, but you're told to go bathe in it anyways, (maybe posing for that pic)? I'm just saying that you shouldn't judge, they are just making do with what they have. What would you do if you were a child in that mess?

Oh dear... that’s so sad... what are we (humans) doing?

This planet, regardless of if you believe it was created by God, a big bang, or is balanced on the shell of a giant space turtle, is the most beautiful and precious thing we have.

If only we treated it better we could have an endless supply health and happiness... Instead, due to greed and corruption, we pollute and abuse it so that a tiny minority of the population may live in extreme luxury and wealth!

Another excellent thread from broahes... S+F

I am right here saying the earth can support more ppl.

But I also indicated many times over we cannot go on
treating the entire earth as a giant garbage dump.

We would need to move to sustainable lifestyles.

Live more like elves and less like pigs.

One man has managed to grow 1 million pounds of food
on 3 acres with Aquaculture and Hydroponics combined.

We can setup these systems on what is called non-arable land
and it will cover the food issue.

We have a glut of housing right now, so much in fact they
are talking about bulldozing brand new houses to get tax values back up.

Now that is insanity.

40% of energy in the US goes to heat and cool bldgs.

That needs to end, here and elsewhere.

We fight wars for oil 10,000 miles away build behemoth ships
to burns huge amounts of it to haul it across the ocean and spill
it in the ocean when we know how to grow oil via algae at a rate
of 100,000 gal/yr/acre in the desert on non-arable land.

We have 700+ bases in 130+ countries to play global policeman.

We have an idiocy problem, not a population problem.

Killing billions like the Georgia Guidestone crowd wants is not
going to make humanity any smarter, just dead.

The Genocidists can lick the boots of the ppl that wrote Eco-science
and then made one of them the science czar, and grovel in
admiration for professor Pianka as he calls for a bioweapon
to kill off 90% of the planet.

The Neo-Druidic GAIA religion crowd can dance around their stone
owls all the want but their religion is just as fake and full of it
as the rest of the fairy tale fantasies.

We got two groups of ppl ready to destroy humanity thru two
different forms of insanity, but all we really have to do is
use some common sense and chose good over evil for ppl
and for the planet.
