You can't back up your claims

But maybe for you, simply making unsubstantiable claims

is all it takes to keep you happy ?

And maybe you need to actually learn some US history ?

New York Times Uranium Found in Iraq

I suppose the history of the country has enough to justify your feelings. There's nothing I can do for you. It seems when the progressives are in power they like to intervene in world affairs. Bush was not really a conservative, he was actually more in line with a progressive when it comes to a new world order.

Uranium was found in Iraq, why would I make up stuff? I have nothing to gain. I am not going to change the attitude of people like you. Even a new socialist pacifist President will not appease you.

Well, that's what you do, isn't it?

I know you all like to believe you are some kind of John Wayne character, or to use your own ugly parlance, "badass" but I have never known such a country of whiners and wimps.

Ok, aggressive or wimps? Can you make up your mind?

Whiners? Hmmm....see a lot of countries whining for American aid, too.

Yeah, because everything you read on the internet MUST be the truth, right?

There's more, but it gets depressing compiling the list

Before I get all into the discussion, just to show that you are not completely programmed and biased by anti-american propaganda, can you provide a list of equal length identifying the good things that have come from the US? Or is that the purpose of the thread, to fill you in on what you do not know?

I agree there are a lot of bad things that have been cultivated within the US, but some of your list is either wrong or misinterpreted.

AIDS - is this from the conspiracy that AIDS was created? Without proof, its a theory at best and otherwise determined to come from Africa.

Oil from the busted well now destroying the world's oceans and sea-life - Is this from a Conspiracy angle also? Othewise, BP is a British company, not American.

Gulf war- What is the angle on this one? Iraq invaded Kuwait and the US liberated them.

Afghan war- this is only 'bad' if the 9/11 conspiracy is true, otherwise it is retaliation, which I don't see as 'bad'

Drugs- again, is this from a conspiracy angle, because most of the illegal narcotic drugs are not coming from the US.

let have a war! why is there riots in this country? how much oil do we buy from B.P.? there is a lot of cover ups in this country!!! A couple people came up to me with a guns in hand and told me i had to leave. that this was their gold claim. It was not their gold claim and i called the cops. come to find out 1 of them was a retired cop. they threaten to arrest me if i filed a report. these are the type of people in charge. I WANT A FED. INVESTIGATION. HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR 3 YEARS TO GET JUSTICE. THE U.S.A. IS FULL OF LIES AND COVER UPS!!! HOW COME I HAVE WORK & LIVING RECORDS IN [ IN.,CO.,NEW M., AND CA.] CA. & IN. HAVE MANY LIVING & WORK LOCATIONS. BUT I ONLY HAVE A POLICE RECORD IN KERN CO. CA. ????? Todd M. Sloan still have the receipt from the gun they stole form me!! and there is more!!!

And who elects these 'guys in charge' ?

Who tolerates 'the guys in charge' ?

Who defends 'the guys in charge' ?

Who profits from the machinations of 'the guys in charge' ?

Who introduced 'outsourcing' to the world ? Same 'guys in charge' ?

Who PROFITS from ALL of the rot --- isn't it those same 'guys in charge' ?

People in power have always been allowed to be in power by its people. That is not a new American idea but a centuries old idea that predates written history.

They used to bring the slave labor to the work, now they send the work to the slave labor but outsourcing is just a fancy new name for a trend that is also centuries old. Great Britain called it colonialization. Alexander the Great called it world domination. The Romans and Greeks called it duty to Ceasar.

As to a wolrd view, during times of war, progaganda circulates. That is how each side manipulates support for its cause. However, the US has freedom of the press [sort of] and it is the US that circulates far more "bad" America material than any of its enemies.

Chill out guys, no-one hates the Americans...

We in Europe (and I live two hours from, London, Paris, Brussels (1 hour actually) and Amsterdam and go a lot to those cities and know how they think about the us) hate your government just as a lot of you do.

We're only disgusted by the incredible shallowness of your culture...

Your movies for one are immensely stupid but....... they're entertaining alright! They're genuine brain killers but the fun factor is 'jeeey'. So it's how you look upon it.
Even the ones that claim to be deep or intelligent are quite laughable to us.
So we usually prefer our movies, but that doesn't mean we constantly have a stick up our ass and don't like to have 'fun'.
I for one had a tremendous time watching 'Avatar' in 3D. But thing like that never touch you intellectually. But when my mind needs 'food' I never ever am satisfied while looking one of your movies...

And the music..... O my...

Once you had the black pride of Blues and Jazz, but that has been killed by all your little retarded semi-porn stars and airhead pimps ('yo bitch', 'guns', 'kill' etc...). hip-hop and R&B is the only #e that is spread throughout the mainstream world.
And the saddest part in this is that Europe's youth is heavily infected by this through globalism. They musically are getting dumbed down as we speak. Luckily Classical music and Jazz is having a big revival here. This is shown through the boost in people going to school again for this. this because so many young people are truly disgusted by the US (through the bollocks that they obviously seen in the world or whatever).

And art? brrrrrrrrrrrr and brrrrrrr and yikes...
They try their very best though and I know I'm going to general here because there are plenty of 'real' artists out there, but it's disgusting how the retards have set a standard in many cases. The stupider it gets, the more it's liked.
Take Warhole for one... Man, this has to be the most overrated bull# in the history of Art know to mankind.
Art is not valued by it's deepness or aesthetics in the US, but solely by how much it's worth in term of money. It's big business.
Do you know how much the retarded bull# of the drummer of Metallica was auctioned? For things like that: You guys are genuine morons.

and Jackson Pollock? Well, anyone can hang on a wire and throw or drip paint on a canvas...

Dali, Magritte, Ernst, Picasso, Modigliani, Goya, etc...

And then politics... I'm not gonna say anything here because it's nearly the same in every part of the world. Politicians are hungry for power and power makes one corrupt. But you people actually think you have a democratic country because you can ahum, 'vote'.
Come on... you have republicans and democrats and that's it. And then the one who has the biggest pile of cash or the one who is pushed forward by the top who controls left and right wins.

the show you guys make around election is amazing. You let yourselves get hypnotized like Hitler did with his shows back in the days.
We here for one 'Belgium' have almost ten different 'parties' (is that correct? I obviously do not mean 'party'
and can vote between hundreds of different people.
think about that for a minute!!! But then again... we are also led to believe into promises that are almost never made true!!!!!!!! So anyway you want to turn it.. they still bend you over with a nice smile and will do the rest with a devilish grin.

There are people here in Europe whom are trying to get Bush and co. go to trial in Den Haag, but the US just laughs with that. And the American citizens? Well, it appears they just don't give a damn. (Take 9/11 for instance... the evidence!!)

And the 'hopenosis' guy Obama... man you people have never been #ed harder than with this one. I also thought the world would change with him, but he's the most hypocrite president in the history of the US. Don't feel bad about it. He fools us also!

And I forgot to talk

let's continue a bit here

And then I forgot to tell you about philosophy.

The thing I guess that made the US go downward in terms of culture and how they became so shallow (I emphasize 'became' here because you all have European ancestors) is due to the philosophy that became kind of the foundation for the unfortunate way of thinking. And that is 'pragmatism'! This is the only thing that American philosophers were good at (at frankly they really really were and are). But life is just a tad more than just talking about the pragmatic things in life.

And if you add the immensely stupidity regarding the way you people are involved in religion is amazing. It 'God' here and 'Jezus' there. Brrrrrrrrrrr again...
But we here in Europe are being invaded by those dark age thinkers 'islam' that is truly the biggest pile of # (sorry 'bout that) that we ever had to deal with...
They use our ethics from enlightenment that are here thanks to Spinoza, Kant, etc... and try to mold it to a Trojan horse.

So, all with all dear Americans...

I prefer the shallow way of the American culture over one that would slit our throats if we don't want to be dogmatic thinkers or worship a non existing god... (with my excuses to the ons that are jumping out of their seat and want to shout that I'm a hahaha racist or something

Peace guys and don't worry... things will straighten out. Our civilization is young and we have to get through the retarded parts to go to the highest ideal!

OK, just to clear something up. I am as outspoken against America as they come. After reading 8 pages of this garbage all I have to say is this...

Most of the "Hate America" people not from America are making the mistake of assuming that the American citizens support what our government does. That could not be further from the truth. We have a very outspoken and large population of dissent in our country and an even larger population of people who don't agree but work their 9 to 5 and go home to live a defeated life and even larger population of people who just don't pay attention to what is going on and just want to get by.

There definitely are the idiots here who think America is the sheriff of the world and we should go around "making parking lots" but don't be fooled into thinking that is a majority.

It's sad to say that we can not fix this by "voting in the right guy" or by "protest". I lived almost my whole life fighting for this and believing this only to be defeated time and time again. Even if there was someone worth voting in for us to choose, there are too many people out there who don't know what is going on to make the change.

I guess the point I am trying to make is yes, as Americans we are a proud people. No more proud than my Swedish father in law is of Sweden or my Mexican friends are of Mexico. There are a lot of goods that have come out of America and we have a lot of bads. What I don't like to see is that people take these things and put it on the American people. Believe me, there is an outcry like you can not imagine to change things here. People want it, it's just out of hand. Our father's, father's, father's, fathers probably would have been too late had they known. It's gone way too far. Despite that, people like me still fight to educate people and attempt to fix it one day. I have traveled all over Europe. Although I may not be as cultured as some people over seas may be, don't make the mistake of believing the stereotype that all Americans are uncultured. I liked most of the places I went over there a lot. I wouldn't mind living there one day.

As I fight the power that is the American government, I do so as an American citizen that wants to restore what this great country once was. Please stop blaming the people for the mistakes of the global giant. Don't forget that we as citizens of Earth need to stay united because we are fighting on the same side against that same global giant.

It seems the majority of your list is either not Americas fault, i.e. AIDS, or is not a problem solely in the US i.e. Drugs, disinformation, the oil leak.

Here I thought the oil leak was B.P.'s fault.

Now can anyone tell me what BP stands for?

Thats right kids, BRITISH Petroleum.

@Landonhell:

your quote:'I guess the point I am trying to make is yes, as Americans we are a proud people.'

Did you know that where I live it is politically incorrect to be proud of who we are?
I am Flemish, and when I dare to state that I'm proud to be one, then you are immediately bashed upon and are accused of being a Nazi nationalist and a racist.
That's why there is such a clash with the muslims also here.
We have to respect them, they constantly are waving their Turkish and Moroccan flags and are shouting that we have to accept them as they are, but from the moment we state to be proud of our culture, or even wave with a flag, then we are racists.
If for instance you dare to put up a flag on a national day, then you are categorized as a Nazi socialist.
And all this comes from the government that is still ruled behind the curtains by the French. For thousands of years we have been oppressed by the French, the Spanish, the Germans and in some extent the Dutch (only the British are the ones that helped us back in history); WW2 is something else).
Now the French are even trying to 'legally' confiscate land by pushing the borders. And we have to shut it because our government that is filled with many 'Franskiljons' (as we call them since the middle ages. They are born here as Flemish but are actually pawns of the French) help the French to oppress the Flemish.
And now they are trying to get rid of us by completely opening the borders for a constant stream of muslims and illegals. But it's forbidden to say anything about that.'We have the same' you may say, but keep in mind that we are a tiny tiny tiny little dot on the map (and around six million of us) and have a social security that has the benefit of when you lose your work you still get payed by the government every month. The only requirement is that you have to have a working history of two years or so.
Then when you're out of a job you get around 900 euro's (around 1100 dollars)But if you have kids a lot more... and the ones whom are breading as rabbits here are ofcourse the muslims
. After years, you can be in danger and be thrown out, but then still there is a backup of another social security that helps you to have a home, food, and around 600 or 700 euro's on top of that.
The thing is that all of that is in danger because most of the illegals and muslims that come here know that and don't give a sh it about us and our culture but they do love the money they get for sitting on their arses (not all of them ofcourse)
But still... the illegals who come here are immediately given the security of the backup social security and get houses on a daily bases.
Now we native people are losing this security by a rate that makes many of us completely out in the cold. Many single Flemish mothers for example are thrown onto the streets because the illegals have often more change to being helped.
Last year there were so many illegals coming into our country that we didn't have any more accommodation to place them. So what did the government do?
Make many hotels available to them for a long time. Only after the sector began to protest other solutions were made available.
Now the illegals are also often advised to go on hunger strikes when they don't get money and a house.
You can imagine that the tension here is beginning to rise to very high level.
And do note that 99% of them are muslims and they are legalized on a yearly bases with tens of thousand at a time. Then I don't count the ones who get here by getting falsely married. Or those who pull their whole families here because they too can claim all that money then.
We are fairly wealthy, but do you know that the Flemish are seeing their money being plucked away by the French every year? We are with sex million people but every year we see 11 billion euro's going to the French.

I'm happy for you that you can be proud to be an American. I wish I was aloud be proud of my background...

Nope just some advice from Carlin:

When you are born into the world you enter a freak show. When you are born in America you get front row seats.

We are just a freak show.

"But why not address the sampling of disasters for which the US is responsible and which have impacted negatively upon the rest of the world ?"

"Such as the potential world wide disaster poses by that oil well spewing oil and muck into the WORLD's oceans (because there are no national boundaries between oceans, you know)"

And just what exactly is the US responsible for? Last time I checked, BP (BRITISH PETROLEUM) was a British Business. And it is my understanding that this whole Gulf Oil Spill mess could have easily been prevented with a specialty piece of safety equipment that would have costed $500,000. They cut costs to increase profit. The only thing that the US failed to do was to call Bp out on their lackadaisical form of safety standards.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic.

And sorry if this isn't formatted correctly. Still new at this.
