Okay... this is a bit off-topic-ish, but it does have to do with UFOs
I'm 35 years old. When I was a kid, the old vinyl record albums were still popularly used.
My folks had an album collection that numbered in the hundreds. I remember one of the records they had had artwork that I found mesmerizing. I
remember pulling the record out just to look at it, not even hear the music. I will describe it:
In the background were mountains. I believe there was a gradient of colors that was the sky. In front of the mountains were several hovering ufos.
I think they were very silvery, and each of them had a lumiscent blueish or purpleish glow. Other than the scene of the natural landscape with the
ufos in the foreground, I don't remember many more details about it. The magenta/purple aura around each UFO does stand out in my mind, though...
When I was a kid, I remember just studying the cover of this album, intrigued. I didn't even know what UFOs really were, nor was I aware of all the
controversy and speculation behind them. I just knew there was something familiar and interesting about them.
I guessed it was by the moody blues, but I haven't seen any album covers by them that match the description.
The sense that I was aware of these things even though I wasn't consciously or keenly aware of them plagues me to this day. Why would I find myself
so drawn to those images? There was another band that had something similar, but that was Electric Light Orchestra. I thought the album covers of
theirs were very interesting also.
I am wondering why? Am I recognizing something? It seems so familiar and recognizable, even though I haven't ever witnessed anything like it in my
life (that I know)
Anyway, I don't expect anyone to know the answer to the deeper question, so my question to ATS is...
Does anyone out there know who the musical artist was that had this record which came out by 1985 at the latest?
