No president should be given a second term. For if they are given a second term they will show that they don't give a whoot about the people they are representing.

Now if you think a president should be given a second term based on how they did in their first term, then you are a fool that will find out how fooled you will be if what you are for comes to pass.

So, did I make myself clear? No on presidents serving second terms. Sink that in your heads!

Na, like others say, the presidents office and staff in normally full of cfr people, so no matter who wins, they win.

The president is just the face on that system.

I think it's a great idea and long overdue.

I can't see those behind the curtains allowing this though

Tormento, how the hell are you, man? I kinda agree, but in a sense it doesn't really matter because the American people are so far out of the political loop it is absurd. Term limits were passed before, but the Courts decided that the vote was unconstitional. They said something about how it was impossibe for them to make this ruling before the issue was put on the ballot, yeah, sure...Politics are fine, it's the politicians that suck, and I mean bigtime! The opportunity for a President to be elected for a second term would, in my opinion, be a motivational factor in serving a good first term. For instance, if you were employed into an important job position with a 4 year contract, wouldn't it motivate you a bit more if your contract could be extended another 4 years if your work performance was desirable? Yes?

So you're saying your opinion is right, and the others are wrong?

I think that four years is enough power and greed and sticking it to the
people. Four years and clean it all out and start with new people, new
ideas, new leadership. That doesn't leave too much time for the career
criminals to stick it to us very much.

And besides, if anyone has been reading any of the threads about
breaking up the US, you will see that pretty soon the US will divide up
into six sections. There will be six presidents. So pick where you want
to live and go there. And don't you remember, John Titor also predicted
that the us will break up into six sections and be led by six different
presidents. I would love to see that actually.

Well, the confederate constitution only allowed their president to serve one 6 year term with no possibility of re-election.

So with all their short comings they got one thing right.

I think all politicians should be limited in terms.

Nobody should be a career politician.

There should also be no retirement plan for elected officials.....period.
