Hey guys im new to ATS i heard about this site this morning and decided to join. Since being a member here i have noticed a trend and there have not many good threads lately, it has been mostly crazy BS stuff. Has anyone else noticed this slump? This trend is getting worse where is all the above top secret stuff.

So..you heard about the site this morning, and already you are an expert on the trend of the threads lately?
Your registration date, doesn't jive...
Trying to be funny or what?

some people just don't get it...
It was a joke because 99% of people complaining and posting threads in the rant board about the "trend of bad threads and posts" and how "bad ATS is getting" are written by new members.

Thats like setting a bomb off just to show every body how bad they are...

Waste of resources...:bash:

What is wrong with setting a bomb off to show everyone that they are bad?

I highly doubt that, you are obviously not in the profession of teaching safety.

Well,I got the sarcasm if that makes you feel better.

I read just the other day someone saying they had been lurking on this site since 1999!

I pointed out that the site did not even go on line until July 2002!

I have been on and off this site since then.

I registered the first time in June 2002 and did post a few threads but not having a good internet connection at the time I did not make it a daily occurrence.

I went "out of the country" for a long period and when I got around to coming back could not even remember my screen name.password or which e-mail account I used to register.

But I do remeber the threads and topics being very good.

Not this posting of news stories that everybody has already read or know about.

You very rarely see someone with a joined date of 2005 or before now.

There is nothing unique about ATS anymore.

It could be worse.

You could have joined GLP. You might be living in a cave right now awaiting the 15 imminent doom scenarios that occur everyday.

I am thankful that on this site they only have 4-8 ridiculous headline posts.

Edit:

my favorite fear-mongering technique used here, gls, and on ure's website:

Wait for a CME directed toward earth, find the biggest earthquake that occurs anywhere around the world within the approximate time frame that the cme is supposed to hit, and then imply that the cme caused the earthquake. I mean that makes perfect sense, it should skip all levels of the atmosphere, skip interactions with the living creatures of the earth, and yet somehow go directly to and impact plate tectonics.

I'm beginning to think GLP is doing it the right way -- predict so many doomsday events that no one can remember that none of them ever come true because they're too focused on the doom set to arrive tomorrow.

I blame the skeptics. There are more skeptics now than back when I joined, skeptics are going to destroy ATS. It's sad.
