And according to the video from Al Jazeera above, they should be seeing 60 suicides a year instead of 12 given the national average for suicides in Chinese factories

There is also the fact that lots of these are 20 somethings from small towns going to the big city for the first time... lots of mental concepts get broken down in such an environment, and if you are working a lot during that, it can drive you mad.

If we boycott everything from china, we'll have practically nothing.

Except stuff from Mexico.

Regardless, it's much easier to quit a job in the UNITED STATES than it is in China. The reason is because their culture includes honor...

In america, honor is something you strive for if you want it by joining the military or becoming a chess master.

Anyway, I don't participate in all that junk anyhow. All things in life are vanity and most technology is the epitome of life's vanity.

These workers also have to pay for their room & provide their own matress. Usually they rooms are very small and shared by as many as 4 workers per room. The base wage is 64 (US) cents an hour, which after deductions for room and board drops down to a take-home wage of just 41 cents an hour.

There is also mandatory unpaid overtime to clean the factory and dorms. At the end of a shift, workers must stand at attention as the foreman reviews the day’s work and what improvements must be made.

`We feel like we are serving prison sentences', say factory workers for Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft and IBM

Just for yucks I decided to look into the benifits of becomming a federal prisoner. American federal prisoners actually live a better life than these poor chinese workers.

Good paying American Federal Prisoner factory jobs

Approximately 16% of work-eligible inmates work in Federal Prison Industries (FPI) factories.

FPI work assignments pay from 23¢ to $1.15 per hour.
