President Barack Obama will hold a press conference on Thursday at which he is expected to announce stringent new offshore oil regulations, as political pressure mounts amid the Gulf disaster.

Obama will take "multiple" questions from reporters in the East Room of the White House, an official said. The media appearance will take place a day before the president's next visit to the Gulf of Mexico on Friday.

And he's going to answer 'multiple' questions for the world! Sweet... but don't worry. The President will have time to rest before he speaks to the media again as he is set to embark on his 2nd vacation since the oil spill started.

Hes not going to answer anything but scripted questioned posed by MSM to make his next election look good.

How does a President go almost a year without holding a press conference? Multiple questions? That could mean 2 questions for all we know. And there will be one about BP, and one about North Korea... and it's going to be straight from his previous statements...

I might vote for him if he did this and he somehow survived but I seriously doubt it.

Obama sounds utterly insincere when talking about the citizenry being affected.

But what a change when he talks about himself. Obama is a egoist.

It is quite amazing to watch, yet again, how the Federal Government, Inc., being run by the criminals in Washington, DC., is incapable of doing anything substantive when a disaster happens.

This serves to support the assertion that the government is NOT there to help anyone. The federal employees and elected officials are there to TAKE YOUR MONEY.

How many still have eaten seafood lately? Can't complain about the death of marine life when many still go down and eat at their closest Fish & Chips fast food and delis.

Today, he appeared at Solyndra, a solar panel company, to give a speech. This provide alternative means to energy. Another way to kick the Big Oil addiction...

... and you know darn well that Big Oil addiction is the problem to solve. Offshore drilling wouldn't be needed if there was no Big Oil addiction.

Bought any solar panel lately? Have you used alternative energy for fuel processors, which produce alternative fuels not based on Big Oil?

Well, something like that would probably inspire thousands to do the same. The extra man power couldn't hurt.

Yes I've eaten fish recently. Freshwater fish from a heavily stocked reservoir. Breaded and deep fried on a slice of bread with fresh potato fries. MMmmmm.. Also lots of trout with a nice lemon rub. These of course aren't under the threat of death due to oil contamination (yet). Even with heavy fishing this particular reservoir it is still overpopulated with fish. Gotta love it.

I agree though, I think people should lay off sea food for a while. I can live without my red snapper as long as it takes. That is the truth.

Rhetoric and hot air. Just what we need right now. Obama has hit bottom and started to dig. Give him another month and his approval rating will be low enough that it can be used to plug that well. Does he know anything besides "it's not my fault" or "the previous administration"?

Throw more bulk manpower and $$ at the problem always seems like an answer. Can't disagree with you there, yet can't always say this answer is fair.

BP and subsidiaries privately own the oil rig and exploration. You know, many people scream at the government to stay out of their private business. If they allow the Obama administration to directly intervene, then that would be a form of socialism... a flip-flop. If the top kill is said not to work, then I heard rumors its gonna happen.

Is it fair to us that Big Oil never had their own private fleet to fully handle their own private business?
