It is well known that UFO's have been recorded throughout history, be it in photographs, videos or cave paintings. The Bible tells us that Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, our savior who had supernatural powers. Curing blindness, healing the sick, walking on water, etc. These characteristics just do not seem Human to me. She was, according to the Bible, impregnated by God. My question for you is this: What if Mary was abducted and impregnated that way? Since when can our women get pregnant by nothing at all? That would indeed make Jesus a half-breed.

No trolling, flaming, etc. please. It's an honest question and I'm sorry if I have offended anybody.

Well, what do you think?
I know this is absolutely preposterous, and I will burn in Hell forever and ever for even thinking about such a ridiculous, blasphemous thing.

then he wouldn't be Jesus, the Son of God, he would be an alien half-breed. that wouldn't make him supernatural but a product of dna manipulation and genetic experiments. aliens would have to obey the same laws as physics as humans because these laws are universal. they wouldn't be able to walk on water or rise from the dead or cure blindness by placing mud on someone eyes. humans aren't suddenly supernatural now compared to humans 1000 years ago because we have cell-phones, or drive cars instead of horses. aliens aren't supernatural because they use flying saucers instead of space shuttles. they just figured out a way that is more efficient. Jesus is above all aliens, God is above all. technology are tools, humans are as advanced 2000 years ago as they are now but they had less tools to work with to create the marvels of their world such as the pyramids. Jesus did these miracles to prove He is the Son of God and that you could believe in His Glory. don't try to rationalize something that is impossible, because it was designed to be impossible so that you can believe.

Dear Roost

Now then you have been thinking again haven’t you??

Now I have warned you about that before, you are just not supposed to come up with ideas that while they make some logical sense will just serve to upset a lot of people.

It is noted that you choose a soft target for your musing, perhaps a figure sacred to Judaism would be too controversial for ye, but I say God owns all and he can and could make even you pregnant if he wished.

*snip*

But kudos to you for having a go (christians are used to Hollywood)

Dearest roost, without faith and hope humanity has nothing. Does it really matter if Mary was impregnated by God or an alien? Was the star of Bethleham a mother ship? How did the tree wise men know to begin their journey from the far corners of the earth? The mysteries will never be answered in our life times.I would consider the message more important than the messenger.Love, laws, and humanity matter more than the details of the story. Keep your faith and pray.

We often have threads about the historicity of Jesus. Personally, I have no problem with the idea that a disciple of John the Baptist exceeded the master, carried on the mission after John was killed, and eventually met a similar fate himself.

I do, however, doubt that anybody decades later knew squat about Mary and Joseph's sex lives. The only gospel that claims to have an eyewitness source, John, goes nowhere near the subject. Similarly, the other gospel that "traditionally" has an eyewitness source, Mark, goes nowhere near the subject, either.

Because, um, what is it exactly that you would need to be an eyewitness to?

The two gospels that do touch on the subject are circumspect. Matthew portrays Joseph as receiving reassurance in a dream that Mary's preganancy is kosher. In Luke, Mary's dialog with Gabriel is sufficiently abstract that he could be counseling her to try it, she'll like it.

To say that somebody was born of a virgin is a figure of speech. It means that they were marked out for holiness from birth. In other words, contrary to the trajectory of his public career, Jesus did not first attain holiness as an adult. Most especially, despite appearances, he did not attain his spiritual stature while he was a subordinate of the Baptist, nor because of that association.

Little or nothing is claimed on behalf of Jesus that is also claimed to be beyond human performance, except for his own resurrection. The disciples are said to do the miralces that Jesus does. Even Paul, who never even met the mortal Jesus, was able to perform a miracle well enough to be mistaken for a pagan god.

When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras. Mary and Joseph were engaged. Mary got pregnant, and Joseph married her. There is nothing in this story that needs further explanation. It happened thousands of times last week. If aliens are behind untimely preganancies, then they must be very busy.

Why can't God be an alien?

well, I dont think we can check that as of today but it could very well be that what people used to call angels and demons, are nowadays called aliens, gery's reptillians and what was the other "light" ones again? it would prove a conspiracy of a lifetime if that is what happened.... as for mary becoming pregnant without "insemination"... wouldn't it be in gods reach to perform such a feat? he DID create adam from dust and eve from a rib... to send his first-angel to earth in such a way is in my POV pretty darn doable for an omnipotent god... Dont think he needed to abduct mary for that...

Because it is unacceptable to fathom the idea that us Humans are not a product of God, but a product of advanced technology. We need to feel special. I'm sorry, I don't believe the Bible's word is law, as there are too many religions and too many religious texts. The story of Peter Pan was written by man, and tells me that if I believe, I can fly. Still no luck.

Back on topic though. Thank you for the decent replies. I was expecting to be condemned to Hell. It is just a thought, as silly as it may be. The truth is, I don't know. That is my stance on religion. I don't know. I wasn't alive back then so all we have to go on is what we're told and taught to believe. I pray to and worship God, not as a Christian or Jew, but as someone that knows He is there. Yes, I'm trying to think again and it hurts. The smoke emanating from my ears is unbearable.

Personally, however, it makes more sense to me. I have trouble contemplating the idea that something came from nothing, as experience teaches me that something comes from something. I am probably wrong, and my wife continues to yell at me for posting "blasphemy." I guess I'm just a dumb white boy. Lol

Time machines would make this a whole lot easier instead of relying on what I'm told is right and wrong.

Answer me this at least. Is it at least possible? Or am I just ignorant and have some denying to do?

It is a possible scenerio for ET from above Earth to come here and modify living organisims. And I dont think its wrong of you to seek out an understanding of our savior. I dont think that ET assisted in the Lambs incarnation, it is clearly written that the ANGEL GABRIEL or is there an alien named Gabriel yea that the angel Gabriel approached the mother Mary and announced she would be the mother of the savior. I am open minded yes but since it doesnt say Mary left and returned prego. I will stick with what I feel is correct and that is that his father sent him to Earth within the womb of Mary.

I think in any situation described, assumptions of belief are made.

Let me expand.

Belief A - They believe that God is real, Jesus was his son, born of the Virgin Mary. This is what I would call supernatural.

Belief B - They believe God isn't real, but ETs are. I'll call this science-fiction only for lack of a better term.

Then there is an infinite combination of picking and choosing options from those two groups that most people fall into.

I said that to say this. Anything is possible when you can't prove it either way.

I would imagine that an alien's reproductive system and our own would be significantly different. Our DNA and the DNA of a chimp are almost identical and yet we can't reproduce with them, so I would go as far to say that divine intervention is the likelier suspect than Alien impregnation.

It is clearly written by man, as God has never come to Earth, shown himself, and written a book. It wouldn't be in the Bible anyway, as the whole E.T. conspiracy has been and still is a cover up and a lie (to us). But sir, you do agree then, that E.T. has had presence in Earth's skies, if not on-planet, even back in the time of Jesus Christ? I do seek out an understanding, and you are the first person so far that I feel understands that. Thank you good sir. Religion is not my strong point if you couldn't tell... It's good to hear from all of you something different than the typical Christian answer of, "I'm right and you're wrong, and if you don't believe what I say, then I will scare you with visions of eternal fire, possibly even kill you."

There is no such thing as the “supernatural”

Advanced knowledge and science is supernatural to the ancient man running around hunting. But to us it’s normal.

What matters is what is inside the mind and heart.

When a person truly turns from inner darkness . . . hatred, anger, and ignorance, to a person of inner light. . . love, happiness and knowledge . . . now that’s a miracle, though in the realm of the natural.
