Did the Internet cause BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster? No, but porn did provide an unwelcome distraction for the regulators at the U.S. Department of Interior's Minerals Management Service who oversee offshore oil drilling.

Employees also attended sporting events sponsored by oil and gas production companies, and were treated to lunches and free gifts, according to a report by the U.S. Department of the Interior's inspector general Tuesday. Two employees admitted using illegal drugs, including meth.

"We reviewed the e-mail accounts of MMS employees at the Lake Charles and New Orleans offices from 2005 to 2009. We found numerous instances of pornography and other inappropriate material on the e-mail accounts of 13 employees, six of whom have resigned. We specifically discovered 314 instances where the seven remaining employees received or forwarded pornographic images and links to Internet websites containing pornographic videos to other federal employees and individuals outside of the office using their government e-mail accounts."

I'm willing to bet a significant large sum of government employees watch porn, but for them to use their government emails to forward pornographic links to co-workers is a display of substantial intelligence deficits, and it actually makes the government look crappy more so than the employees for hiring such individuals.

The two accounts of drug use, a given.

This doesn't subside the lack of interest that these employees supervisors have, considering there was pieces of #ing rubber floating up through the well.

True, I agree the porn thing is going to happen....however taking gifts (essentially a bribe) from the very people you are supposed to be regulating is definitely NOT ok.
