'Recon for attack a warning to Iran'

www.jpost.com

Reports that the Pentagon has okayed reconnaissance missions over Iran were seen in Jerusalem on Tuesday as the first public signs of practical preparations for a possible US military operation against Iran.

The New York Times reported on Monday that Gen. David Petraeus, the top American commander in the Middle East, ordered an expansion of clandestine military activity in the region. According to the report, “officials said the order also permits reconnaissance that could pave the way for possible military strikes in Iran if tensions over its nuclear ambitions escalate.”

Things may be heating up now. An aircraft carrier left the US just last Friday for the waters off of Iran and now this piece of news. The two could be unrelated. The carrier could also now be headed to the Koreas instead.

My guess is that if the US is certain something is going down on the Korean peninsula then Iran may take this time to think the US has their eye on a different ball in which case the US will be outsourcing the work to Israel.

Further reports indicate that up to 5 new US aircraft carriers will be deployed into the Persian/Arabian Gulf region by July...

Iran now is getting air missile-defense systems from the Russians, and we've heard about Iran/Turkey/Brazil uranium deals, plus one arm of Iran, Hizbullah, is claiming air-strikes to Israel... so it seems that US and/or Israel estimate they hold a smaller window of opportunity now.

In relation to the Korea situation, U.S.' Gates and the Japanese Defense Minister just met at the Pentagon today and discussed:
1) concerns about future actions of NK
2) "potentially dangerous" military activity by China in Japanese territories

Hopefully, so much synchronous involvement is concidence.
