Pop Star Britney Spears wants to be frozen after her death so that she could be brought back to life when technology is advanced enough to work it out.

Article Source 1
Article Source 2

The singer wants her body to be preserved in liquid nitrogen at cryogenic temperature (below -150 C) so that future generations can see her dancing routines if she is revived back to life, reports thesun.co.uk. The 28-year-old has already started investing in a foundation specializing in cryogenic freezing.

'Britney gets these obsessions and this is the latest. It started when someone told her Walt Disney had been preserved by cryogenics to be revived in the future. That was a myth, but it got her researching the foundation and she became convinced it was worth a shot,' said one of her friends.

'Britney found the whole thing so interesting that she spent most of her Mother's Day trip to Disneyland researching the subject on the internet,' he added.

I know this story is referring to a Pop Star and the 2nd source is not a favorite on ATS, however the article is scientific in respect to the subject matter of cryogenics.

I always wondered about this service and how things will be handled years from now. What happens years down the road when anyone who would have remembered you is dead, and all the money used to keep you frozen runs out? What do they do with the body?

I watched a documentary on this once and from what I remember biologists stated that when the body is frozen it destroys the cells due to the ice shards that pierce them. I don't know if using Liquid Nitrogen inhibits this effect or not. I truly don't think we are anywhere near achieving the ability to reanimate a person utilizing the cryogenic storage method any time soon.

Not to be a curmudgeon but I have teen girls. Is there some way we could do this now and save my ear drums?

She must have missed the article about them using Ted Williams frozen head for batting practice at the cryogenics lab.

LOL, hey, they could be into heavy metal!

But, then again, you mean you want Brit frozen straight away? Now that's sorta mean!

Get new insulation for your house!

And yet more proof that there's a sucker born every minute. This has got to be one of the greatest scams ever invented. Pay us now, we'll resurrect you later with science that doesn't exist yet. People will do anything to survive death, up to and including giving your money away to people who store corpsesicles.

*BOOURNS* on the heavy metal bash. hahaha.

I think it would be cool to be frozen. All pun intended. Depending on what you believe at death, I wouldn't mind a glimpse into the future.

She'd better do it now, while she still looks good reasonable.

I feel sorry for her. She is totally derailed. Divorced, kids are not with her, Mental.
Don't say it's just an act. I've seen her act. She isn't that good.

Same here and i hear you loud and clear!!!

Please make it a freezer big enough to chuck in a few more though....

Hannah Montanna
Rhianna
Actualy...any of the Disney kids who make a song.

Lady Gaga...not forgetting to sign over the rights to her/his music to Semper first though.

Not that i have any expertize in cryogenics, but i doubt it will work anyway.

Why on earth would anyone want to bring her back anyway? Some celebs really do have an over exaggerated opinion of themselves.

I can picture it now, "Brittany Spears....you have been fined one credit for a volation of the Verbal Morality Statute!...and for shaving your head bald...AGAIN!!!"

You are aware that she does have partial custody of the children back, aren't you?

LOL, don't stay up to par on the scandals, do ya?

So, someday she will catch her body up to where her brain is already at....frozen!

More power to her....we've all heard about what those folks at the cryogenic storage facilities do with the frozen dead...

Once again, you are just jumping on the band wagon. Her name is not spelled Brittany, it's Britney! LOL! YOUR title says Brittany!

So what if she wants to be in a deep freeze?

Star and flag grab a bit much?

I'm an ALCOR member, and I hope we come out at the same time...all attention will be on her, as it always is.

I just hope they find a way to bring back the body and not the head...and considering some of her previous decisions, she may actually OPT for that, and it would be better for everyone.

Nope I did not know.
Good for here.

Nope not a minute of sleep.

I really don't understand why she keeps turning up. I have not heard a decent new song in years.

What in the world are you talking about? VERY presumptuous of you. I saw a story and posted it. Your logic is completely flawed. I fixed her name in the thread title, you can relax now.

I would really like to know what you mean by "Once Again" though?

You jumped into, and pasted your title in another thread on Britney Spears. I commented on that thread, also. She is my husbands cousin. I corrected you there, too!

No, I posted a screen shot of the two different but coincidental stories one claiming Illuminati and one saying she wants to be frozen.

I corrected the spelling like I said. So I take it because she's family you feel you have to defend her I gather. Guess what, I could care less about her or her life. However I thought it was interesting that she wanted to freeze herself. I didn't even know there was another B-R-I-T-N-E-Y Spears thread on the board until I saw the two together. If you want to call that jumping on the bandwagon then it's your right, flawed as the logic is.

As far as the "S&F grab" comment, I have more ATS points than I know what to do with, if I could give them to you I would. I assure you I am not here for popularity, I am secure in any social setting.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions with folks. Communication is a wonderful tool, if you ever decide you want to utilize it, I answer all my U2U's.

You are a troll!

For your information, this is a thread about cryogenics. She heard about how Disney did this & now thinks it's a great idea. She has been told WHAT to think & not HOW to think.
I bet if I researched all Britney related threads, you'd be there on every one staunchly defending her.

I have an idea, why don't you start a thread about how everyone needs to worship her?
