Hezbollah says it will hit Israel ships in new war

news.yahoo.com

The leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah group warned Tuesday that his fighters would attack Israeli ships in the Mediterranean if the Jewish state imposes a sea blockade on Lebanon in any future war.

Hassan Nasrallah said his Iranian-backed group is now capable of destroying any military or commercial ships heading to Israeli ports.

He added: "We are capable of targeting, striking and destroying your ships as they head to any port on the coast of occupied Palestine from north to south."

"When the world sees how these ships will be destroyed in the regional waters of occupied Palestine, nobody will dare go there anymore," Nasrallah added.

So now they are drawing the battle lines for war.

They had problems aiming their rockets against cities, how do they plan to hit ships?

Those rockets you're referring to are built in basements with little more than common kitchen materials. The weapons THEY are referring to are built in high-end weapons-manufacturing plants in Iran, Syria, and Russia. There is no comparison, it's not wise to misconstrue the reality of the situation.

However, Hezbollah clearly made the remarks as a deterrent, not as picking a fight. They know Israel is backed by the US and UN. The only way a war will start, is when Israel decides it wants to.

The Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah has mobilized up to 20,000 soldiers and placed them on alert to confront Israel's military along the Lebanese border.

Officials said Hizbullah has placed all of its forces on alert for the prospect of an Israeli military operation in Lebanon. They said Israel's military could decide to launch attacks on Hizbullah and Palestinian targets during its major exercise in late May along the northern border with Lebanon.
