Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). On that day, fans around the universe proudly carry a towel in his honour.

I haven't ventured outside yet - I'm still waiting for a Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal to finish napping on my living room couch.

(Oh sure, it might just be my husband, but given the noise that thing out there is making, I'm not taking any chances!)

Poke it with a stick....repeatedly until it makes itself known...

if indeed it's the Beast of Traal, just run away, you still have the stick as defense... if it's your husband, just poke really hard while thinking of all those times he has pissed you off....:shk:

Thanks for the advice.

I finally worked up the nerve, draped the towel fully over my head - and made it to the front door unscathed.

Aforementioned towel also came in rather handy when I got caught in a rainstorm about 30 minutes ago.

I actually keep a towel in my shoulder tote all the time, you never know when you need it......
