If you are like me, and don't have/use a car, what is your preferred method of transportation?

My wife drives a Jaguar X-Type 2.5 all wheel drive, 6 cyl. Gets about 21 mpg and gets filled once a week.

I drive a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, 6 cyl. Gets about 28 mpg and gets filled once every two weeks since I am retired and don't have a daily commute.

In the nice weather I drive a 1966 Jaguar XKE convertible, 6 cylinder and I don't have a clue about the mpg, just love the car.

These are the vehicles in my household:

Mine is a 1973 Ford Bronco (As if my nick wasn't enough of a hint :lol

8 cylinder, about 9MPG

My work truck (it is a take home vehicle so I included it) 2009 Chevy Silverado
8 cylinder, about 25 MPG

Family runabout: 2001 VW Beetle
4 cylinder, 45 MPG

Wife and Family travel vehicle: 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4X4
8 cylinder hemi, 12 MPG

Daughter (18 Years old): 1995 Jeep wrangler
4 cylinder, 12 MPG (4:10's, explains the poor mileage)

Son (16 Years old): 1995 Jeep wrangler
4 cylinder, about 18 mpg

I guess you can tell by the bronco, jeeps, and the dodge that we are a four wheelin' loving family lol, but we do use the beetle for errands and stuff, so we aren't entirely environmentally unfriendly

What kind of car do you drive?
Mine: '66 Ford Fairlane
Work: 24' International Flatbed Truck

How many cylinders?
Mine: 289ci V-8
Work: 6cyl. Diesel.

How many miles to the gallon?
Mine: I don't know. There's nothing on the engine that should hurt mpg's. (I do have power steering in the car, but it's not connected.)
Work: I have no idea. Being loaded each day with anywhere from 2 to 13 tons, probably not too good.

How often do you fill your tank?
Mine: Every two weeks. (Tanks not empty. Just when I get paid.)
Work: Once or twice a week. (2 50gal tanks. Filled when it gets below half.)

How many miles a week do you drive?
Mine: 50/60 avg.
Work: 450/650 for the week, somewhere around there. (Lots of stop and go. That doesn't help much.)

I used to drive a lot more than that at my last job. (Mostly highway driving, but driving the same type of truck.)
Those work miles would be easily doubled if not tripled, but we didn't keep track of miles there, and I just got in the habit of filling up at the end of every day. I was driving 3 different trucks at the time and it was the easiest way to know that I could just do my walkaround, get in, and go.

Looking back now, I kind of wish I did keep track of miles, just to see how many miles I've actually driven.

Car -2004 Buick (paid for)
6 cy, 28-36 MPH (depends on who is driving, the weather, road conditions, fuel)
drive approx 200 miles per week
Fill up tank 2 - 3 x per month
It is a gas engine, american made. Will probably go with Suzuki, Toyota, etc -- someone who is not union and has not taken any government bail outs. I want to be able to find parts for my vehicles (a current problem for my household appliances when they quit working). This is probably my last american made vehicle.
