U.S. police departments deploying heavy armor
BY RAMIT PLUSHNICK-MASTI
The Associated Press
PITTSBURGH, Pa. — After six people were shot in the city's Homewood neighborhood, Pittsburgh police rolled in with a 20-ton armored truck with a blast-resistant body, armored rotating roof hatch and gunports.
No arrests were made during the sweep in the $250,000 armored vehicle, paid for with Homeland Security money. But the show of force sent a message.
Whether it was the right message is a matter of debate.

I understand the need for SWAT vehicles and the fact that our police force in many cases are totally out gunned but What use would the Police in the US have for this?

Personally I think all they would need to do is allow Concealed carry, or CCW (carrying a concealed weapon) this would solve a plethora of problems. See my previous post : www.abovepolitics.com...

The secret meeting on Jekyll Island in Georgia at which the Federal Reserve was conceived; the birth of a banking cartel to protect its members from competition; the strategy of how to convince Congress and the public that this cartel was an agency of the United States government.--...were seven men who represented an estimated one-forth of the total wealth of the entire world.
Unquestionably, a draft of legislation - or at least the broad outlines - for a U.S. central bank was drawn there; participants in the meeting subsequently acknowledged and celebrated their "achievement." For example, Frank Vanderlip recalled in his autobiography, "Our secret expedition to Jekyll Island was the occasion of the actual conception of what eventually became the Federal Reserve System. The essential points ... were all contained in the Federal Reserve Act as it was passed."
1. The Fed is incapable of accomplishing its stated objectives.
2. It is a cartel operating against the public interest.
3. It is the supreme instrument of usury.
4. It generates our most unfair tax through inflation and bailouts.
5. It encourages war.
6. It destabilizes the economy.
7. It discourages private capital formation.
1. The Fed resists external audit
2. If it were audited by an independent party, I suspect there would be nothing illegal found
3. The problem is not that it steals from the American people illegally but that it does so legally
4. Therefore, we do not need to audit the Fed, we need to abolish it
