because the ABC has been predicting August all week.
Kevin trying to get in quick after the phony Tony speach,
or maybe before Kevin puts his foot in it again.

Well, What can i say.

Julia Gillard is expected to call an August election to seek a quick mandate as Prime Minister and avoid the fallout of an inquiry into the $16 billion schools stimulus program she has been overseeing.

Labor strategists are confident her elevation will give the Government a bounce in the polls and Ms Gillard is anxious for voters to authenticate her prime ministership at an election.

A snap Nielsen poll taken after Kevin Rudd was dumped on Thursday already shows she has catapulted Labor back to an election-winning lead over the coalition.

Labor had a two-party preferred lead of 55 per cent to 45, an eight-point swing to the Government in three weeks.

Ms Gillard became PM after factional party chiefs and key unions withdrew support for Mr Rudd and swung behind his deputy, triggering a mass revolt among Labor MPs.

It will be interesting to see if the generally conservative Aussie voters can actually stomach a socialist, lesbian, satanist as prime minister.

While I would applaud a female PM, surely we can do a lot better than this ?

While Americans really admire aggressive corruption and pure evil in a leader, Aussies are very different.

She is the only Prime Minister in the entire history of Australia to refuse to hold a bible when being sworn in by the Governor General.
That is not my opinion but FACT.
catchthefire.com.au...

She has a long past history of being an active socialist, especially from her university days.
She also draws most of her support from the socialist left factions within her party. That is not my opinion but FACT.
www.mamamia.com.au...

As for being a closet lesbian, she keeps a low personal profile, and that is her choice.
But Australians have every right to know and to judge for themselves the moral standards of THEIR Prime Minister.

So she doesn't want to swear on a bible, big friggin deal...That makes her a satan worshipper??? I think Obama did the same BTW..

She also has a Boyfriend, long term and high profile...

You think Rudd had nothing to do with the School Building Stimulus??
No one in Goverment could fart without Rudd's permission..

Just stick to bagging her polotics if you don't like them...

Leave the BS gossip to the opposition..

August was always going to be a popular date for the election, there was no divine prediction there IMHO, besides, the month is the only thing you got right!

voting at an election quickly called by Prime minister RUDD,calling it before we slip into financial trouble

Rudd isn't the PM anymore and there is no sign of financial troubles.

BTW, looks like the PEOPLE like the fact she is not religious...

From YOUR link..........

1. The Australian is currently running a poll on the issue - please vote YES!

True unbeliever - Do you care at all about Julia Gillard’s lack of religious faith?

The current vote is: Yes 23.87% (2378 votes) No 76.13% (7584 votes) Total votes: 9962

Please vote YES - to vote, click on www.theaustralian.com.au... - scroll down on the RIGHT side of the page to the poll.

2. The Age is running a poll on whether Julia Gillard’s atheism will make her more open-minded on policy.
The inference is that non-Christians are more open-minded… especially since the Age tends to take that approach!

However, in Julia Gillard’s case she has already made up her mind on abortion, sexuality, Labor policy and so on and is not likely to consider the ‘Christian perspective’ in policy making.

Thus we’d answer the question with a ‘No’!

Poll: Will Julia Gillard’s atheism make her more open-minded on policy?

Current vote - Yes 64%, No - 36%, Total - 314 votes.

It may be no friggin deal to you, but to many people it is truly shocking.

While several previous Prime Ministers were freemasons, and definitely anti Christian, none has ever shown such utter revulsion for the Christian Bible as Julia.

And her high profile long term "boyfriend" is actually a homosexual hairdresser if you care to do a little digging.

I am not making any of this up, but it may spur a few people here to do a little internet research into our new Prime Minister.

Abbot too is virtually unknown to most people, a bit of research is justified there too I am suggesting.

Yes, there are religious fanatics, and that is never good.

And there are agnostics that could not care less either way.

And then there there are the satanists..........
Ask Americans about how wonderful the Skull and Bones, Bohemian Grove, the Illuminati, and all the other pure satanic evil has helped America to prosper.

I'm not a big fan of gillard, and actually I think the way she slipped into power is nothing to cheer about.

But, just on the topic of your visions...are these random visions that just come willy-nilly, or can you focus on something and then an answer in the form of a vision comes to you?

It may seem an obscure thing to ask, but have you had any visions of gold (as in the price) by any chance? Or visions of financial meltdown later this year or next?

Explanation: Yes she is left of center, which is the heartland of Labour voters, and Yes she didn't place her hand on any bible when she was sworn in, she took an Affirmation Oath instead.

But lets have a look here shall we...

From your link...

When Julia Gillard was sworn in as Prime Minister she used an ‘affirmation’ - not the traditional oath on the Bible. When asked about religion yesterday on the ABC, she said she didn’t believe in God and is “not a religious person” although she was brought up in the Baptist Church. She said “I’m not going to pretend a faith I don’t feel” but added that she respected the religious views of others.

Although we are concerned about the Prime Minister being an atheist, at least she is being upfront about her beliefs!

Having an atheist as the Prime Minister is a significant development and a move away from the Christian heritage of our nation. We would like to see committed Christians having influence in the governing of our nation.

We posted a report on these matters - with links - on the front page of our website yesterday.

We’ve included that report below…

First two polls…

So does that make her a Satanist??? Nope here is why...

Satanism [wiki]

Satanism is a direction and a school of religious beliefs that comprise a number of related ideologies and philosophical beliefs and social phenomena. They share the feature of symbolism, traditions, veneration or admiration of Satan and/or similar figures or personifications of powers or ideologies.

When she clearly stated that she is...

“not a religious person”

Now as for her being a lesbian...well how do you explain this...???

AND....

The Drum: Gillard and the choice to marry (by Rodney Croome) [abc.net.au]

By opposing same-sex marriage, Julia Gillard has denied her fellow citizens a choice she proudly and publicly claims for herself - the choice to marry.

Gillard against gay marriage (Beware the autostart video player..it has a 5 second delay and an off button OK) [smh.com.au]

Prime Minister Julia Gillard says she does not support legalising gay marriage in Australia.

Labor policy on gay marriage will remain the same under her prime ministership, Ms Gillard told Austereo show today.

"We believe the marriage act is appropriate in its current form, that is recognising that marriage is between a man and a woman, but we have as a government taken steps to equalise treatment for gay couples," Ms Gillard said.

Asked if that was also her personal view, Ms Gillard said it was.

So care to make some retractions???

Personal Disclosure:

She is not religious, that does NOT make her ANTI CHRISTIAN as you say..

It just means she doesn't believe (as I and many others dont) that God created the world in 7 days, then made Adam and Eve, flooded the world, impregnated Mary then allowed His Son to die on a cross only to rise 3 days later.... I've always wondered what the 3 days wait was for BTW....

I've mentioned this before, but I believe the only real chance the Liberal Party has of winning the next election is if Peter Costello (former Federal Treasurer) makes a surprise return and runs for the leadership. If he does, it better be very soon.

As for Gillard, I've never found much to dislike about her. She seems relatively balanced and in control of her emotions (no hissey fits or public blowouts yet.) I think she understands politics well and has a positive vision in mind for where she would like to see Australia headed.

(Just a little FYI for those not from Australia: voting in Federal elections is compulsory in Australia).
