Need for an Oil Spill Main Thread

I know there are some on ATS that don't feel like the BP oil spill is that big of a deal, and just a deflection from other world events, and it very well could be.. but still there are many of us that feel like it is huge.

With all of the new threads every day coming out about the oil spill, I feel it would be in all of our interest to bring the information into one source.. one thread. This would keep from the boards getting clogged up with many re-posts and it would allow those of us that are following this thing to keep the information we gain in one source.

I'm up to doing this, but I just wanted to run it by everyone and get their thoughts first.

This thread is already running, but it has been there hasn't really been any updates in a few weeks.

I agree regarding the consolidation of such threads, however it's always very difficult when a strong parallel thread jumps up & starts running well.

This will be a huge story.

Unfortunately or fortunately (depending on one's point of view), I think Obama will be damaged because he has not taken effective leadership during this crisis.

But I guess that's off topic, so I'll leave it for those threads.
