D.C. Metro Police Escorted SEIU Protesters to Bank Of America Executive's Home

bigjournalism.com

The family of Greg Baer, Bank of America executive, is located in a jurisdiction protected by the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), which responded promptly to a disturbance call from his neighborhood last weekend.

police cars attached to the Washington MPD’s Civil Disturbance Unit had escorted the SEIU protesters’ buses to Baer’s home

So, let’s sum this up: A caravan of SEIU buses receive a Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Department escort to a private home in Maryland

What is going on here? Here you have a private citizens home being set upon by several hundred union thugs and the entire business is facilitated by police?

These protesters were illegally on the property, not on the street and the situation was clearly volatile. Volatile enough for the kid in the house to call someone and indicated that he was frightened. Oh, I've heard that if the kid came out and asked them to leave they would have left in a orderly fashion. What person is going to come out of there house and confront an angry mob of thugs shouting into bull horns.

Not only did the police escort these thugs to the private residence, they crossed jurisdictional boundries to do so. Hence, were a crime to be comitted on the scene they would have been out of jurisiction to act upon the crime.

This is scary stuff. It is the wedding of government and organized thuggery. Who ever within the DC police approved of this use of police resources should be brought up on charges

Ah the Union thugs, Sad day for the D.C. police Department to allow for such partisan escort.

I wonder if they will also escort the Tea Party Express buses to their area of request.

Oh wait, the police department would rather send the SWAT for the TPM rallies, like the one in Illinois.

I wonder who gave the D.C. Metro Police the order to escort and protect this group of protesters from a known violent union to a location outside their jurisdiction? Sounds to me like the Washington D.C. Metro Police are playing Obama's personal protection service for his friends in the SEIU. Has Obama set up a Mafia style structure in D.C. police force?

A case of the police union protecting a 'brother' union....

I heard that local cops refused to make any arrests because it would 'incite' the protestors.

A setup, and a travesty of justice.

I'm sorry but this to me is not an outrage. The real outrage is going to be the multimillion dollar bonus this homeowner will get to make himself feel better.

Agreed. Personally I find it a humorous occurrence. Just the image of it is enough to make me laugh.

Really? How would you feel if the police escorted a bunch of folks over to the head of the local Planned Parenthood chapter?

The issue here is not the politics of any of the specific issue, but rather the engagement by police to support a protest, which defact lends police/public support to the protest.

This kind of thing has brown shirts written all over it. Thats what the problem is here.
