Life's a beach

The waves can be calm some days, other days it is raining, some days its bright and sunny and it seems almost perfect and then a hurricane comes through and you start to wonder if the beach will get destroyed. And sometimes parts of it does - with debris that got caught in the storm. But the beach never leaves. The beach needs the waves, or else there would be no sand going from the ocean floor to the shore. The beach needs the shore and the rest of land or else it would just sink and the water would subdue the beach.

We our constantly torn by our environment, but we depend on it. People have the power to put us down and bring us up. Sometimes we are born on an island, sometimes we are born on a crowded land mass, but we don't have much say from birth.

And really there is no point to any of it, if you can't see how it won't exist without you. Everything you do is affecting something or someone in the faintest of smallest ways.

When things are going good It is hard to see how the beach really needs anything once you are on it. Its beautiful. Beaches mostly have the right weather, breeze smell, fruit - heck you could find a couple of trees and lie in a hammock and just relax. But the beach needs more than you think. It needs you not to build office buildings on it so you can try to make it to the top, nor does it need you to build a dock and sale away from it. It needs you, to appreciate it.
