In case anyone missed it, I wanted to draw attention to this breath-taking photograph of the shuttle's rendezvous with the ISS as they transit the solar disc. The photo was taken on May 16th by Thierry Legault. Be sure to zoom in!

To make this relevant to ATS, please note: this photograph is not from the "NASA special effects department," but from an amateur astronomer who lives in France. It contains one (1) Space Shuttle Atlantis, one (1) International Space Station and zero (0) Nibirus. Enjoy!

Thierry Legault has really made a name for himself in the last few years with his ISS and shuttle solar transit pictures. No one does it quite as well as he. Getting the shuttle just before docking is even more extraordinary to me; those close-but-not-docked images are very rare.
