University of Florida professor Steve Otwell is helping teach others to stick their noses in BP's business.

Otwell is coordinating the training of 60 to 70 government inspectors to evaluate the contamination of seafood taken from the Gulf of Mexico after the BP oil drilling rig Deepwater Horizon exploded on April 20.

Otwell, a professor in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences at UF, has been teaching seafood safety and quality for 30 years.

The training is expected to begin mid June.
