I am sorry, I usually do not post videos, but I swear bob is the endisnighe in disguise!

Okay, bob can get out of hand, but his comment on the speedos made me crack up and I am finally just down to a giggle.

Oh well.

Here you go.

Just sounds like your average ignorant ATS rant to me.
Another American who fails to understand Socialism, nothing new here.

Well, I am thinking bob has the basics of socialism.

You steal from everybody productive, give that money to the unproductive, essentially government, spend more than you have, go deeply in debt and expect others to bail you out.

Kinda where the world is at right now. You know, that lovely socialist utopia all you frelling socialists love.

Good post Endisnighe! I enjoyed it quite a bit. Socialism is a stupid joke which has, and never will work for human beings. Too many scum trying to make their way to the top. Not enough willing to work. Besides helping others in the community is something people will and should be allowed to do out of the goodness of their heart. Never forced. That's not how we work!

Edited for content and S&G.

When your country was consumed with the “red scare” more than 50 years ago, it seemed like everyone was accusing someone of being a communist.

After 9/11, during a “scare” targetting everyone that was or looked Middle Eastern, thousands of innocent people across the country were unjustifiably suspected of being or helping terrorists.

Every so-called “scare” stems from fear and a misunderstanding of reality. This is still the case today.

I have heard cries of socialism everywhere recently. Everything the Obama administration does or proposes is somehow socialistic to many.

But I am convinced that at least half of those who are exaggerating proposed policies by labeling them socialistic have no idea what they are talking about – because amidst the talk of socialism, I hear the same people, sometimes in the same sentence, also refer to our president as fascist, communist or totalitarian.

Another clear indicator that the term "socialism" has been demonised so hard in the USA. Which is a shame, but no suprise.

Socialism, the word says it, it derives from "Society"

Shows how much you people who scream about socialism know about socialism. America IS one of the countries with socialist elements. Post office, schools, roads, police, fire departments, all of these are socialized....

Socialized infrastructure is fine. These things can be paid for without one dime coming from individuals labor. These things can be paid for without property taxes.

But when you increase the size of government to 50% of GDP, this means those that actually produce, are giving over 50% of their wages to keep the status quo going. Including the corruption and fraud of the government.

Maybe us people can provide for our own family and communities better than a massive centralized government ran by the banks and mega corps.

Funny how socialists will rail against these very entities, yet give government more and more power and percentage of their labor, yet forget the whole problem stems from the government.

Ok if unabaded socialism is so awesome than I'm sure you folks that love the concept so should have no rpoblem telling me of a few of your favorite socialist societies that have succeeded in the world? Human nature is to help one another and to work together. If it wasn't we would have never come this far. It is not however a good idea to make that sense of community governent mandated because there will always be those in a socialist setting who will not play by the rules. They will contribute little or nothing and take way more than they are alotted. That is also human nature. That is why charity must be left up to the individual and you cannot force everyone to work hard and give the benefit of that hard work to others. Also that ensures nobody will work hard because they will see no perrsonal benefit. Now let's here about all those socialist societies that have successfully dominated the landscape of history hmm?

Socialism is just misunderstood, and those who misunderstand it are ignorant. Now let's replace the word socialism and use a word like, oh say, pedophilia, and see how that works. Pedophilia is just misunderstood, and those who misunderstand it are ignorant. Let's see how that works with the word murder. Murder is just misunderstood, and those who misunderstand it are ignorant. Nah, I don't think generalizations such as that really work.

If socialism can work without imposing itself on the public, then I see no problem with socialism, if it can only work by force, and through plunder, then it is fair to presume that those who declare us that misunderstand it, as prime candidates for re-education camps. If socialism is so noble it need not be forced upon a public.

If replublicanism is so noble it need not be forced upon a public or have a public held captive by it. Touche.

When somebody says socialism is about control, they don't understand it since socialism is only about ownership. Capitalism and communism both try to privatize ownership while socialism tries to have more community owned property. Socialism is like public domain with rightful protections for community use.

Is any form of public domain a disease? Better go turn off and erase your Pirate Bay downloads... or any torrent connections for that matter.

Socialism, the word says it, it derives from "Society"

No matter which definition one turns to in order to better understand the meaning of the word society, this word society, is not synonymous with the word socialism.

Socialism is an economic theory, and society is an actual fact of life. So, when someone declares those that oppose this economic theory as being ignorant, and then all they can do is offer games games of semantics as support for their argument that those who oppose socialism as ignorant, then in the spirit of semantics, I suppose turnabout is fair play, and in regards to society where humans have joined together as companions and in the spirit of friendship, when a zealot of socialism assumes those who oppose it are ignorant, they only manage to make asses out of us all. After all ass, and; u, and; me come from assume.

NORWAY

They aren't in a recession, they have below 1 per 100,000 murders, very low corruption, economic freedom, one of the highest press freedom, one of the most democratic, an income of $70,000, a poverty rate of 4%, an unemployment rate of 3%, and one of the lowest income inequalities.

If by republicanism you mean that government institution in The United States of America that has been mandated by Constitution in order to ensure the rights of every individual are respected and protected against the madness of democracies, then surely what you are advocating is mob rule over respect for inalienable rights, and as such; en garde!

When somebody says socialism is about control, they don't understand it since socialism is only about ownership. Capitalism and communism both try to privatize ownership while socialism tries to have more community owned property. Socialism is like public domain with rightful protections for community use.

Uh-huh. Dictionaries don't seem to understand it, encyclopedias consistently get it wrong, and only the left wing radicals truly understand it. The only problem is, you have just declared it to be precisely what those who oppose it believe it to be; a prohibition on private property. I own my own body, and it is my private property. I own my own labor and it is my private property, and I do not harm a soul by owning this, but your method demands I make sacrifices for who? For society. And everyone has under your method has a right to me and my labor as a "rightful protection for community use." No thank you.

Is any form of public domain a disease? Better go turn off and erase your Pirate Bay downloads... or any torrent connections for that matter.

The foolishness of the socialist advocates is evident in remarks such as this one. I don't have any pirated downloads, nor discs, and everything I own I paid for with my hard earned labor. Only a socialist would assume that everybody plunders just like they do.

Care to bet BOB is upset because his taxes are too high and he feels that he is falling behind financially? Perhaps a nice SOCIALISTIC tax incentive would help him out? or a SBA loan to help his business?
There are so many types of socialism that to simply scream the word has become an excerise in futility. Bob needs to define his argument better rather than just getting louder in his rantings. Go have another beer BOB.

We DO have a responsibility in our society to help those who CANNOT do for themselves. Those who CAN do but won't need to get off the wagon and start pushing like the rest of us.

You must be one of those that tries to twist democracy into being synonymous with mob rule.

I didn't ask if you had pirated downloads or if you never paid for you stuff. If you consider what it takes to transfer all these bytes of the internet, it would never make it here and for under such values as you rant on about. The bitorrent scheme works by being able to share and load balance the workload. This is a fact you probably overlooked.

Wow, that sounds about the same as the US.................40 years ago before the dollar was removed from the gold.

Ever since ever increasing taxes. Ever increasing controls. Ever increasing debt. Ever increasing immigration.

So, you bring up Norway. Hell the population of Norway 2008-4,768,212

Hell, the US has had that many people come here in the past two years.

Not really relevant to a country of over 300 Million. That is the police of the world. That has about 4.5 million federal employees directly and indirectly. Not even including the military.

Wow, we have as many federal employees as Norway has people.

Apples and Oranges.
