I'm sorry, but my grandparents, both sets where illegals, from Ireland, different time, same situation. If it wasn't for compromise almost none of us would be here...

[snip] the mexicans have as much of a right to be here as you... their ancestors were roaming north ameria through arizona texas new mexico cali and some other places way before the white people from europe came.. im half seminole indian and i am fightin for the mexican people... my wife she is a mexican. my ex wife is an illegal mexican. if you look at history you will see the people from europe came and took everything from the indians and the mexican people who were in those states listed above, and killed sooooooooo many of them and indians and raped their women..

As much as I hate being a broken record, that is a terrible argument for illegal immigration, and not just because you're appealing to emotion. Take a further look at history, and you'll see that America was conquered. Your ancestors being here first doesn't justify your disrespect for the country's laws. If you want to enter the country, do it legally. No one has a right to illegally do anything.

Last week I decided I had enough here and was going to Mexico to become a citizen. I have excellent computer skills, a masters degree, as well as many other job related skills. When I got to Mexico I started the procedure to become a citizen, only to instead get beat, robbed and thrown in prison. I was only able to get out thanks to the money my family has which was therefore used as a bribe.

I still haven't received my citizenship documents, hopefully they come in the mail soon.

Childish?

Tell that to the families of the dead Arizonians, or the families that have childern missing (kidnped by Mexican Drugs Runners), tell that to the Arisona law enforcement officer who was shot and almost died by a bored Mexican drug trafficer wondering around Arizona illegally.
Get in ..get out bur for God's sake..get of the frigging fence.

Illegal Immigrants need not apply...

Im pretty sure that anyone against the law is pretty much against it because its going to force discrimination. You can't just ask a person to hand over their papers because they seem to be an illegal immigrant.

The air has a pre civil war with a little bit of Nazi Germany feel to it..

Did your grandparents come through Ellis Island? If so then they were not Illegals, they were granted refugee status and eventually gained their citizenship's afterward. That is not the case with the Illegals here now. The Illegals coming through the South, know they are in the wrong and want to leach of the teet of the Fed as they have seen & hear the ones who made it before them do. Drop a couple of Anchor Babies, and now you can get Food Stamps & other benefits while never having to pay taxes on the wages you earn.

We cannot commit at this time to playing at a venue where some of our students' safety or liberty might be placed at risk because of state immigration law."

Sounds like they might have illegal students doesn't it.

Hey you know how the Kalifornians have always wanted to go green energy, now is their chance to get a head start. They already have that other green crop which I am sure had something to do with them supporting these boycotts as they are too doped out to know what the boycotts will do to themselves.

Yeah, I just emailed Villaragosa's office about what a DISGUSTING Mayor he is and how he helped TANK Los Angeles into the abyss. After seeing his smugness on that video, I want to spit in his face.

What a failure.

I would add it to the OP too. It shows his smugness and what we Angelinos deal with.

We need to remember that the states are sovereign and have retained those powers not specifically assigned to the federal government. The states are, in essence, a group of independent nation-states that have agreed to stick together for the sake of national cohesiveness. I think that Arizona, and other states concerned about federal failure to defend the borders and national security, are completely within their sovereign rights in enacting these types of laws.

California has been pushing the envelope and has been a renegade for many decades despite the consensus of the majority. CA deserves to be booted from the union, or cut into manageable pieces and reconfigured. The leadership of that state has been very aggressive in pushing a Socialist agenda on the rest of us by flexing their economic muscle and posturing. Kinda sad really. Their liberal, welfare policies and their sanctuary mentality has led to a dramatic drop in state revenue and a huge drain on the coffers. They have even been selling infrastructure off to foreign nations. I think it is time to reap what they have sown. Let em fail and we can pick up the pieces later. Maybe we need to create a Southern CA and Northern CA? Too big to fail???

It pays to watch CA in the coming months and years…you know the saying “As goes California, so goes the country…”

Just waiting for a Mod to put it in the OP, I wish there was a way to embed it. That LA Mayor is riding the backs of the Illegals and their anchor babies. The whole state is a mess because of the benefits they allow for the Illegals to receive. Well they are going to be having more mouths to feed soon enough.

Arizona is a huge corridor for the Illegal to come through to California. Many of them go through there first or New Mexico, as our Southern border is a little harder (it's narrower).

I know that if Arizona cuts it at it's borders, it will help us indirectly.

The only thing that FREAKS me out about the Arizona law is that the Illegals there NOW are going to flood here...well...some. Some might go to Texas or Nevada or New Mexico, but we might get a huge wave.

With our luck, all the border States will choose to enact laws like this and all the Illegals will flood here in the end when California is the last standing SANCTUARY STATE.

GREAT
That would just be lovely wouldn't it?

i just want to remind people who are opposed of this law to remember one thing...

illegal immigrants are ILLEGAL!!!!!

illegal is BREAKING THE LAW!!! THEY HAVE NO RIGHTS AS THEY ARE CRIMINALS!!!

it seems like people tend to forget this and forget it often

im sorry but i have no problems with sending these people back to mexico...i understand they are human beings and they just want a better life...but they they arent exactly making life in america better by bringing in tons of crime, drugs and racism (as they refuse to enculturate themselves into our society) along with them.

my better half immigrated over here from russia with her entire family 18 years ago...the hell they went thru to become americans is a long story...but they were political refugees from russia as they are jewish...basically the time and effort they put into becoming americans PROOVES they have the right to be here...they didnt just hop a fence and demand the country they entered into illegally speak their language and give them everything on a platter

anyways...im getting off subject...anyone who opposes this law in arizona really needs to sit down and perhaps learn what the term "illegal immigrant means" (or if you grew up in the 1990s or earlier like me...the term use to be "illegal ALIEN" before we became so "politically correct" about it)

Hey Imightknow, if you get your citizenship approved, would you still follow through regardless of the fact you had such a horrible experience down there? I have looked into leaving the U.S., but unless you commit treason or are a "terrorist" you have to have a good reason and a country willing take you in before you can renounce your citizenship here. Is it easier to leave Mexico after becoming a citizen there? I'd rather be a citizen of the world then be under the thumb of almost any of these country's governments.

The foolishness of these boycotts is amazing. Here in the PNW, the Seattle City Council just decided to boycott Arizona. Oh, but the exception is the fantastic red-light traffic cameras that they use in Arizona. Seems a Seattle company makes them so they specifically excluded them.

"we will not have city council trips to Arizona"

Good. These boneheads should be making trips to the office to do some work not taking boondoogles to the sun. AAA of California has all of its call centers, operations and IT run out of Arizona (outsourced from California). They going to cancel their AAA insurance?

If you want to have a boycott, then have some stones and boycott.

If you take a look at these measures they are all such that there is absolutely no courage in them.

ATT wireless is headquarted in Arizona, going to give up your ATT phone? American Travel Related Services is located in Arizona. They all going to give up their AMEX cards?

Really? Why do they even ask for passports at the borders of ALL countries then, I wonder...? Including Mexico. 42 states have statutes requiring the citizen to carry some form of identification. In some of these states, failure to produce proof of identity when asked is a crime and you can be arrested. Citizen or not. I'm not really sure where you have been living....

A DL and proof of insurance are the minimum, or a state ID. My ex was from Korea and she was required to keep a copy of her green card on her at all times and to produce it as proof of legal status whenever she applied for a job. This has been the law for decades. Nothing has changed, we are just enforcing the existing laws now because things are getting out of hand on the borders.

Do you know how many uninsured illegals there are driving around out there right now? Who pays when an accident occurs? Abandoned cars are the norm anymore post accident. It has nothing to do with race, my friend, just good citizenship. I'm all for amnesty, but everyone in this country needs to have an ID and needs to pay their fair share of taxes like the rest of us. That would have a serious effect on Mexico's GDP if the money actually stayed here in the US for social services...

Someone has assumed my sons ID and is wreaking havok on his credit... their first name is Juan, no kidding. Pisses me off.
