How would you know?

Who can help me create 10 definitive signs?

Has anyone had any experience with this?

1) Clicking on the phone.
2) People acting strange or out of place.
3) People starting conversations for no apparent reason in odd places you travel to on a regular basis. ie the bus, school, work.

Hypothetical -

What if you were shown something and they wanted to know what it was you were shown? The information could be damaging to something or someone they were previously investigating.

How would you react?

I have just given a few examples. Mybe someone may have some ideas.

Simple answer... you wouldn't know. They are quite good at surveillance as I would hope they would be being our intelligence agencies and all.

You would have no way of knowing unless they wanted to let you know as they are pretty good at the job.

1) Clicking on the phone.

Yes…

But I know the reason.

If you have a dish or directv receiver in your house, you will have clicking. I know first hand. the dual receiver likes to call in at 3am every night. If you are on the phone at that time, it will click as it tries to call in. If it fails(you are using the phone) then it will show an error message on the receiver.

The other single receiver is a little more of a pain in the butt. It seems to call in randomly from one day to another. Like today, it tried to call in at 7PM when I was on the phone.

Popping and crackling in another story. When it rains hard, and the water comes up, then you get crackling on the phone. That is because some of the telephone splice boxes are in low areas. You can drive down the road and see the very top of the box sticking out of the water. “You sound like you are underwater.” Well the phone line is, I know that!

Back to subject....
Sign 4: If you seem to see the exact same car somewhere behind you when you go to work every day.

well I'm on the watchlist already
and it was waaaayyy before ADL
showing up here on ATS.

My phone line has been clicking
off and on for about 2 years now.
So I know they're listening.
I just let them listen. I am not a criminal
or a terrorist so eventually they will
give up on trying to pin some evidence
on me.

There were a couple times I thought I was
being followed in a vehicle. And once
outside a Subway sandwich shop I saw
what I thought was an agent. He had on a pair
of shades and a cap and had dark facial hair neatly
trimmed and short, white complexion, mid to late
20's. He must not have expected me to pop out
around the corner but he played it off
real nice and avoided contact as I walked by him.
This happened AFTER the ADL report included
me.

I have also been contacted by what I thought
were agents on this board by u2u asking for my
help with a project they were doing and asked
to take the conversation elsewhere. They didn't identify
themselves as agents but their tactics are unmistakable
by a trained eye.

I know them to have my PC bugged. They do not do it
all the time just certain times. My computer will freeze up
and my mouse pointer slows down and processor speed
decreases as if my screen is being mirrored for them
to look at while I'm online. It is a high-end app they
run so it takes up a lot of my processor time to transfer
it in real time.

As far as what I'm gonna do about it .....
nothing !!!!

as soon as they are confident I am not a threat
they will move on to someone else who is a
higher priority target.

Do you have a cordless home phone?

Do you have a cell phone with a camera or video recorder?

The government does not need to bug anyone or listen in using outdated technology.

I became aware of this about 12 years ago. I had purchased a home cordless phone. This phone had this neat little thing you could do. You could call the phone using a code and the phone would pick up without ringing. You could listen to anything where the phone was. It was a security feature for when you were away from your home.

Now, try and find that being used today. You will not find it. The government wants that little snippet of info to be, not well known.

Just imagine, you are carrying a GPS unit phone, with a receiver for listening and a video feature for collecting pics or video whenever you have it out of your pocket, purse or holder. And if the holder is one of the clip ons, they have access to vid all the time.

Next up, I have had heard rumors about the cable system as well. Have not looked into those. Also, did you know you can get internet through the power lines? Hmmm. Can they use the power lines to listen? That ol smart grid they are beginning to install everywhere, what EXACTLY is that for?

Believe me, if the government wants to listen in to a specific person, you will not know it. Hell, you are their perfect listening device. Just think of it this way, even if you were planning on something and they knew you were, they need the terrorist activities to continue to keep their power. So just go ahead and do what you will.

You could be the next reason for the next draconian privacy killing legislation.

My question would be this - what do you have going on in your life that security or law enforcement agencies would be interested enough in to be listening to?

Personally, they can listen to me all they like. They'd find me pretty boring.

I don't give a hoot if people want to waste their time and resources monitoring everything I do. When it comes down to it, if I'm honest with myself, I'm a law abiding, atheist, single, straight, financially stable guy with a full time job and without a criminal record, and am really not that interesting to any agency like this.

As far as your questions about conversation starters in odd places - have you ever considered they are just people that want to talk to you? I often start up conversations with complete strangers on buses, planes, trains, grocery store lineups, filling my car with gas, elevators, you name it.

I used to be a recruiter and have recruited employees in ALL of those locations with a 30 second conversation leading to an interview.

I've also met women I've later dated in checkout lineups (including one checkout girl who I dated for 2 years) with a 30 second conversation. It's better than the bar!

Not associated with any of those agencies, but I think I may have startled an ATS member the other day in a post where he demanded to know where the person was who had made a particular post, and why he was not responding. I replied immediately: "If you are looking for me buddy, I am standing right behind you" .....

And my post just happened to be the first one which followed his demand, which made it even funnier. Got to love it here sometimes.

Two words.
Packet sniffer!

Learn it, love it.
If there is any data going out of your computer, to the web, you will see it.

If you are concerned that they may have a way to stop outgoing data from showing up on an infected computer, then……

Connect your infected computer to the internet with a non switched Ethernet hub. Put a trusted computer on the same switch to just watch the packets, nothing more. It will show you all the packets heading from and to the internet.

Worked for me many of times, on determining if a questionable computer was infected or not.

Dear onequestion

I am assuming that you are American, right??

In that case you are protected against this sort of thing by your constitution???

Or so I am told anyway.

However the rest of the world is not.

The NSA listen into every phone, email, or any other electronic communication outside America.

So quite literally all elc, com, outside the US in listened too by them.

So you think you are pissed.

What gets me is that when I tell people either they don’t believe me, or two they don’t care.

Don’t believe me read this en.wikipedia.org...(signals_intelligence)

while I appreciate the gesture and info

I find it better just to let them get their
rocks off knowing they got in and
didn't find a terrorist.

If you try to hide from them
they will try that much harder
to gain access.

Yes I find it intrusive and downright
insulting and a breech of my civil rights
but I can't stop them.

You most likely wouldn't know, unless they messed up somehow and gave themselves away.

1) Phone clicking - So outdated. With technology nowadays you wouldn't know.

2) People acting strange or out of place - I live in So.Calif, people acting strange or out of place is a daily occurrence anywhere i go.

3) People starting conversations for no apparent reason in odd places you travel to on a regular basis. ie the bus, school, work. - Most people in So.Calif are odd, so odd is actually normal.

If i was being monitored, they'd be awfully bored, aside from the occasional porn site i check out.
Honestly i could really care less, i'm guessing i've probably been monitored in some form in the past. I've gotten the big red "S" on my boarding passes a few times during my travels back and forth to the Middle East.

Hypothetical situation. Lets just say i am sure people on ATS have encountered this type of thing and i was curious about their experience. It is my theory that someone has the mindset a lot of us share based off an experience that has lead them into this mindset.

Lets just say that this type of conversation leads to the meeting or another person, or introduction of another person.

boondock-saint -

I am curious about your computer situation. Have you found any information regarding programs that cause this type of thing?

I'd cancel my Facebook account.

No, really - I don't think you would know - unless 'they' wanted you to. And if it got to that point it would already be 'over'.

Alphabet Agencies don't have time for cat and mouse games, that's only in the movies.

I am just saying, in a hypothetical situation.

I am not saying i'm doing anything illegal, or that i am going to use this information. I am just simply curious. It seems like a topic that would be prudent for this type of forum. I mean i am not asking this on MMA forums, or WOW forums. lol

As for the CIA/NSA, they watch everyone. They do data mining to look at search history, phone records, airline flights ect. With the tech they have now, they probably wouldn't have to physically follow you - it could be done through GPS and cell phones. If it's for national security, they are exempted from the normal warrant procedures and you would never really know what they did.

You have to worry about the other type of surveillance when you have a or might have a legal case.

Ok I will be serious. Yes it is possible anyone could be under NSA, CIA, or FBI surveillance, or a combination of all three in some instances, and the chances are remote that if you are, that you will ever know it.

Probally one of the worst things you can do, is to threaten the life of the president or his family, or other government officials, even if it is just in an open forum. There is a huge difference between saying he is jerk, or he has stupid policies, if that's the way you feel, and threatening to kill or injure him. I think that is a given.

Everything after that is subject to an analysis of possible intent, motives, etc. You know that there are current and ex-military visiting this site, current and retired law enforcement, government officals etc., and just regular folks, here, as well a a variety of people from 225 different countries from all over the world. I am sure that all three of the above agencies routinely monitor this site for that reason, as well as foreign agencies.

many who think they are being watched are of no interest to these
folks i believe. I am one of those people. It costs time and money and
maybe some paperwork to do that kind of stuff. Are they going to
waste these resources on me? I don't think so. snicker

I would be crushed if all three weren't watching me!

I deserve watching!

Even I live in total fear of what I might do next!

Edit to add: I would like to believe that MI5, and the MOSSAD at the very least are watching me too!
