It said the earthquake was of magnitude 5.2 and its epicenter was near a village in the M'sila region. Algerian state radio said there had been damage to some houses in the village and emergency services were at the scene.

the arabic country algeria was hit with a 5.2 earthquake last Saturday. 2 people where killed and dozens injured.

i first saw this news while watching arabic TV, one local man was interviewed and he said

"earthquakes are natural occurrence in this area, it does increase once we enter the month april"

algeria has a history of devestating earthqakes:

1954 Orleansville earthquake (1,000 dead)
1980 El Asnam earthquake (5,000 dead)
1989 Boumerdes earthquake (30 dead)
2003 Boumerdès earthquake (2,300 dead)

my question is will the earthquakes increase as earths temperature increase??

will the summer bring more earthquakes and maybe volcanoes?
