This was an early thesis topic of mine in Philosophy studies and became a sort of passion for me I carried into Communications research.
It probably wouldn't surprise anyone that as a healthy teenaged male I was all for it.
But the research is interesting. For every Feminist viewpoint out there that it's harmful, there's another that's it's helpful, and done
can actually be an education tool or great equalizer in gender relations.
A great mind to google on the topic is Catherine McKenna. For the alternative, Larry Flint.
There was actually quite a movement for ANDROGONY
and the creation of FEMINIST PORN
during the 80s that's kind of died off. Or rather
Dude looks like a lady
is the norm as are the choices of bi-sexuality for women. You're also just as likely (if not more) to see a male being
victimized in porn these days as a women.
Porn can arguably be said to be empowering to women. The strong role of Mistress or "Engulfer" has been used to counteract the violent imagery once
associated with the male dominated act of sexual agression.
But for all it's pitfalls and pluses, the free speech issue remains the very cornerstone of the porn debate and as such...porn isn't going anywhere.
So why not make it better? Please.
