ELITES Hate When the People Speak

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, David Brooks described Bennett’s defeat as a “damn outrage.” Liberal E.J. Dionne went a step further and called it “a nonviolent coup” because the Utah voters dared “deny the sitting Republican senator even a chance of getting on the primary ballot.” Why, it’s almost like these voters think they’re allowed to choose their own representatives or something!

Now we have liberal media elites chiming in on the recent take down Bennett in the republican primary. They are spiting fumes over the fact that people actually voted him out of the primary. They are flabbergasted at the fact the regular people can even employ such powers to take out a siting senator, a senator who was more in tune with the Liberal vision than those of the party he was representing.

Conservative voters have woken up to the mass scam of the two party system and now are promoting candidates who they believe will bring America closer to the Constitutional values.

Sorry to burst your bubble here, but what you see in politics right now coming from both camps is what you are going to get in power.

The ones in the link of the OP are telling the truth, we the peopel do not elect anybody anymore, the private interest with the millions and billions to spend do, tell me when was the last a politirat from a politicrap party work for the benfit of this nation and its people.

I would generally agree with you to a point. But, there is more of a tendancy for those on the Left to have causes and want to save the world with their ideas on how everyone should behave and live. They are not happy with the state of human nature and want to change it. Those on the right (more of the Libertarian slant) in theory want to leave people to their own devices. That being said, yes, they both get corrupted by the system and trapping of power and even up selling out the public in the end.

I pay way more then what I can afford. Life is very difficult. I'm not like many of the other young people who point the finger at people. If there is a problem that needs fixing, then fix it!

FOR SAKE OF CLARITY.

The quote in the OP is lifted from a conservative website and offers "opinion" on the Meet The Press segment. It is a tad misleading. Here is the transcript from the ACTUAL SEGMENT:

www.msnbc.msn.com...

No one during the program actually said: “Why, it’s almost like these voters think they’re allowed to choose their own representatives or something!"

It was a sarcastic comment made by the author of the article, not a quote from the "Liberal" on the show. Just wanted to make that abundantly clear.

Nice try OP.

You are trying to reach for something that was never said in my OP. If you cared to read my OP and the snippet from the source, none of that is in a quoted text. The snippet starts of with the editor of the article quoting the Liberal Host.

Someone needs to go back to school and learn what "quotations" mean.

Hmmmm. The author of the article in your OP is Brian Garst. I do not see his name ANYWHERE in your OP. The snippet you quoted implies that the "Liberal" guest made a snide comment which is not the case.

The quotes in your OP snippet were made by two guests on the show. EXCEPT the unattributed last line which was commentary by the author of the article.

Do you read stuff before posting? You seem confused by your own thread.

EDIT TO ADD: This poster seems confused by quote which is why I pointed it out.

Why, it’s almost like these voters think they’re allowed to choose their own representatives or something!

I'm not one who follows politics that well, in fact I detest it but honestly some of the things that seem to have been going on are against the public wishes made me look into politics.

Her outrage is directed at the "Liberal" politician but it was written by the AUTHOR OF THE ARTICLE. How can you deny the ambiguity?
