This is what attracts me to Communism and socialism. American people seem to be nothing more then labors in corporate America.

A lot of incumbants will get tossed out in the primaries. And come November, we may see a whole new line up in Washington. Perhaps we will get some reps and Senators who will actually listen to the people when we speak out on the issues.

If Elites is code for Liberals, I agree. There is nothing more intolerant and non democratic than a Ivy League educated Liberal.

It's funny, though, when they get in power they are usually huge failures in dealing with the real world environment instead of theoretical studies. But they have to stick with the orthodoxy of their 60's hippy generation clap trap and start calling everyone names around them.

The last line in the quote astonishes me.

Why, it’s almost like these voters think they’re allowed to choose their own representatives or something!

I'm not one who follows politics that well, in fact I detest it but honestly some of the things that seem to have been going on are against the public wishes made me look into politics. I know there are differences and such from one person to the next, but at times when there is a general consensus it seems like the top hats don't want to do it. It's like when people say go left the top hats go to the right immediately.

That would be nice if it were something more than a TPM wet dream. Conservatives are and always will be single issue voters and when push comes to shove they will fall in line with whatever the GOP machine deems flavor of the day. Palin comes to mind.

Granted there is a dissatisfaction with incumbents but to be replaced by who? More politicians perhaps that will fall into the corruption money pit at the first opportunity. Maybe there will be a new crop of people in the house and congress but I'm willing to bet green money that we will be having this same discussion shortly after they are elected with the same whining and wringing of hands. There is just to much corporate money involved for it to change to a "voter" reflected, respected government. You want change; there's your focus.

Still it's worth a try!!

One positive thing I am beginning to see is that Republicans aren't afraid to put republican on their campaign posters in my local area.

It doesn't matter what the political system or ideology, in the eyes of the elites, the 'people' are nothing but labourers. The worker drones, mindless proletariate, who through no fault of their own, must work to support the privileges of the elites.

Now I'm really confused. David Brooks is a "liberal media elite" When did that happen?

Even Pat Buchanan and I agree on something once in a while, but I surely would not call him liberal.

While it is refreshing & possibly useful for all the callous insiders to get their smug bubbles burst,

sadly it is the moronic, mindless right that seems to be the ones doing it thus far.

The very people who STILL cheer on long-dead Reagan, who with deft charm & idiocy worked with vile capitalists to slit the throats of the very working people who voted for him.

Ignorance is always so sure of itself.

Intelligence is nervous, timid & meek & usually too shy to say its invariably vastly smarter ideas out loud.

Brainless reflexes are so much more efficient than deep thoughtful contemplation.
