CNN breaking news reports that two sons of OBL have been wounded and captured.

Appearantly, OBL's top aid who was captured has been "talking".

Anyone got a link for this story yet?

The earlier report that 2 of OBL's sons were captured after a gun battle in South East Afghanistan, has now been detracted by CNN. Whether that's due to a major mistake with the original information, or for time to confirm the report, I don't know.

Anyone else got anything on this possible breaking story?

that one of the sons captured was Said sp? bin laden and another son, and since Said was close to Osama, then they must be close to finding him.

Here is the latest, saying they cant confirm the arrest report. Seems like with all of these news stations competing for stories, info comes out way too soon, whether it is confirmed or not.

A Pakistani provincial minister announced Friday that two sons of Osama bin Laden were arrested in southwestern Afghanistan in a joint operation involving Pakistani and U.S. forces. U.S. counterterrorism officials disputed the claim.

Seven other al-Qaida men were killed in the operation in which Saad and Hamza bin Laden were arrested in the Rabat region, Zehri said. He said the sons may have been injured in the operation.

Saad, believed to be 23 years old and bin Laden's eldest son, is also on the American most-wanted list and has been said to be a rising star in the terror network.

The al-Qaida leader is believed to have up to 23 sons by several wives.

"They were arrested from Rabat area in Afghanistan," Zehri told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. Rabat is located in the extreme southwestern tip of Afghanistan where it borders Pakistan and Iran.

Zehri is the home minister - in charge of security - in Pakistan's Baluchistan province.

In Washington, U.S. counterterrorism officials strongly disputed the claim. They said they had no information that would suggest any of the sons had been detained.

A U.S. official told an AP Radio reporter at the White House: "We, in fact, think it's wrong."

By discounting the info, they probably want whatever leads they currently have to work better, and that's accomplished with the enemy not knowing how close you are... I really do hope this pans out though...and that the report is correct.

Amid reports from Pakistan that suggest Osama bin Laden may have been captured by United States and local forces, a Pakistani official announces two of bin Laden's sons have been nabbed in Afghanistan, according to the Associated Press.

Pakistan's provincial home minister Sanaullah Zehri told the Associated Press the pair were arrested during a joint operation involving U.S. forces in the Rabat region of Afghanistan.

Zehri said seven other al-Qaida men were killed in the raid.

According to the Associated Press, the arrested are Saad and Hamza bin Laden. They are believed to be two of the 14 to 18 sons of bin Laden. Saad is said to be closely tied to the operations of al-Qaida.

The Pakistan Tribune, citing unnamed sources, reported yesterday on the arrest of nine al-Qaida suspects in a raid near the Afghan border one of whom was thought to be bin Laden or his son.

Fox News reports U.S. counter-terrorism officials strongly dispute reports that bin Laden's sons were captured.

Meanwhile, ABC News is reporting major operations under way to hunt for Osama bin Laden with new leads provided by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Mohammed reportedly told investigators that bin Laden had met him in the mountainous regions of frontier areas near Baluchistan. Mohammed was captured last weekend in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He is in U.S. custody.

ABC News, too, reported the major new search centered around the Baluchistan region. Leaflets are being dropped from airplanes reminding residents of the $25 million reward for bin Laden, according to the report.

There reportedly have been numerous sightings of bin Laden in the area on both sides of the Iran-Pakistan border. Mohammed has extensive family ties in the region.

"They definitely have him pinned down to a small area" said ABC News terrorism consultant Vince Cannistrano. "This will be a major operation."

U.S. officials told the news agency that bin Laden's location was pinpointed more than a week ago when he used a mobile phone to call his family. Satellites picked up the call.

The report also said bin Laden's son Saad was recently in Tehran.

Authorities believe information from Mohammed's cell phone confirms other data they have suggesting they are very close to finding the No. 1 most-wanted terrorist in the world.

Some U.S. officials believe it will be difficult to take bin Laden in alive.

"I always had this dream of seeing him in an orange prisoner's jumpsuit that said, 'Metropolitan Correctional Center' (in New York City), but I think he will want to shoot it out because he has scripted his own demise," Jack Cloonan, a recently retired FBI bin Laden investigator, told ABC News. "He wants to be a martyr."

Cryogenically freeze his arse... I don't want a penny going to feed that guy... Hard to see Allah when you're still alive, hehe....(like he'd go there anyways), but it would sure send a message to all terrorists thinking that a bunch of virgins are waiting for them in heaven, huh?

Now they're saying that they weren't arrested.

www.msnbc.com...

I think this is a result of all these news channels trying to get the story first. If someone says it could be, then it's all over the news. Or maybe they do have them, and don't want anyone to know. ?

It would be *much* more costly to maintain cryofreeze than it would to keep up with food & "shelter" in a prison cell...
